Im thinking the Con/PIRS files would be great for linking to games stored on a USB drive though.
so you want this default.xex default.ini with ini having this: usb0:/Games/<name of game>/default.xex? I think pointing to a .png? file (in the game folder on the usb drive) in the .ini as well so the "My Games" on the dashboard would have visual for the game its pointed to. If thats not possible then include the .png from the game in the link folder. What do you think?

What do you think? urgh you really know nothing about it do you (aka tried to make con files..)? you select the icon when you _make_ the package.. then you use xexloader to copy the con you made @ pc to your xbox.. so basicly for every games oyu need to make it @ pc and copy it with the xexloader..

Gotchya. I haven't gotten into that yet, but its still a great way to use those files. Could be automated and incorporated into game extraction in the future.

^ left2die4 ? left 4 dead 2 doesn't freeze anything on my console.. it just displays a message that it could not be played because it's been updated to an incompatible version ... i tried to delete the $systemupdate folder.. but i guess the XEX needs more patching, because I get this message on all Wave 4 games (assassins creed, l4d2, MW2)

I deleted all sysupdate folders from the games.

I have played Left 4 Dead 2 with no issues, as well as many others. You need to CLEAR YOUR CACHE of title updates, because when you patch games, the xexp files inside the update cannot run correctly. The workaround for this is extracting the files from the title update and using xextool [-p] to apply the patches to the untouched game files, then patch with gamehack and play.

If you clear cache, don't accept the update, and patch these files, L4D2 works fine: Checking all files in 'J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\'
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\default.xex was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\datacache_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\engine_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\FileSystem_Stdio_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\GameUI_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\inputsystem_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\launcher_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\MaterialSystem_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\SceneFileCache_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\shaderapidx9_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\SoundEmitterSystem_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\stdshader_dx9_360.dll was patched successfully

Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\tier0_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\vgui2_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\vguimatsurface_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\vphysics_360.dll was patched successfully
Xex file J:\USB\Left 4 Dead 2\bin\vscript_360.dll was patched successfully

Just got FIFA10 to work from USB. Seems to me like a bug in Xextool 5.2: I had to decompress the fifadllzf.xex to binary before removing the media limits. Otherwise the file got corrupted (I couldnīt even open it in Xextool anymore) and the box just gave me E71 error after launching the game. Maybe some interesting info which might be relevant for other games too.

Nono, Gamehack of course creates the same corrupted xex as it is based on xextool 5.2! Otherwise I wouldn't mention it!

I have a noob question: a console, with the last live update, banned, can make use of this, having a Cygnos and its second nand?

You tested this? That's weird.

With this loader now does this mean more in-depth hacking?
Private keys? Maybe a workaround for the new CB loader?

There is no workaround, this still requires a JTAG-compatable console.

If that gamerscore or tenth prestige is so important to you that you absolutely need a pointless number - get it legit If you are just trying to show off - throw a party(real party, not nerd party, some of you would miss that point) If you like to be a fagot and go by "Jtags are for Mw2" - GTFO

What I meant was would it be possible to use a hacked console to break the unhackable machines like with the original xbox? I can only imagine that with the ability to load unsigned XEX's we should be able to get more valuable info from the console to aid us on the new bootloader. Anyone any thoughts on this?

you'll need to find an exploit in a different kernel or find a way to use the old CB.

It might be easier to get a job at MS, work your way up through the ranks, get assigned to the HV then introduce a new security hole in a future update.
