Is it possible to unpack Live arcade games and patch to run from external USB HDD?
Should work fine. Thanks for the reply! So the LIVE arcade games are just self contained XEX files? So no unpacking , just patching? Sorry for the basic questions

Sorry for the basic questions At the moment the loader can't run LIVE packages, so if you want to launch them through XeXLoader, you will need to extract. If you want to launch them from the dashboard, you can leave them as a LIVE package, and optionally unlock it as a full game if it's a trial.

My issues seem to be extraction related. Instead of extracting the files with XDVDFS XTR from Schtrom I just copied a Disc over to USB with the Xexloader itself, removed the media limit with Xextool and it worked. Maybe this is a bug in Schtrom? Because the image itself seems to be OK, just ran it through abgx.

Use redline99's *'Xbox Image Browser v1.0' *The image browser in 'Xbox Backup Creator v2.8.0.275' (If your ripping a disk)

Congrats! I found a way to extract the files from original discs and got it working using a fat32 formatted usb-drive Had to use the X360gamehack to remove the region, mediacheck and encryption. Tried it with Dead or Alive 4, plays fine and loads alot faster this way compared to the original dvd. A question though, as it comes with a filebrowser, I guess I can copy stuff from my usb-drive to my freeBOOT-formatted internal hdd right (as the official tools do not support this atm)? So is it possible to convert the game-folder (with the patched default.xex in the root) to a xbox-live-arcade game and store it on the internal hdd (first place it on the usb-drive and then use the XeXloader to copy using the builtin browser)? I hear people talking about con/pirs files and I think it looks alot better if the game would just show up in the original dashboard under the "My Games" tab.

I understand. You found paradise in America, you had a good trade, you made a good living. The police protected you and there were courts of law. And you didn't need a friend like me. But, uh, now you come to me, and you say: "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Godfather. Instead, you come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married, and you ask me to do murder for money.

No Con/pirs have size limitations. I believe max is 4gb.

So far I have found one bug and one game that does not work:
Race driver Grid has over 700 files in the root of the dvd. XexLoader fails to open the folder and freezes. The game that does not work is L4D2. I can start the default.xex but I only get a purple pattern on screen and the box freezes. All xex and dlls are patched.

Make sure you check other files too. I know for a fact valve has like 10+ dlls that ship with thier games. They are probally xex files

operation flashpoint has quite a lot of files too so it crashes while loading the folder too

so you want this default.xex default.ini with ini having this: usb0:/Games/<name of game>/default.xex?
