Hi there,

I've repaired a 360 that someone brought to me which had the dvd-key missing i was able to get the cpu-key with xell and sort that, then i put xbreboot on it, but a weird problem i came across was the eject button on the console doesn't work but the eject option works in the dash.

Has anyone came across a solution to this, i wondered if it was a problem with the button on the board, the button seems to press ok it just doesen't work.

Thanks guys

I have the same problem, At first I thought it was XBR. So I started again with a fresh dump and I still have the same problem.

So now I just use my medie remote to eject.

Also my power off button on the xbox 360 does not work either. Maybe thats some how connected.

can i ask you guys if this was from the virgin start with not even the nand read?(eject problem only).

reason why is because it also could of been messed up from a person trying to mod the drive plugged in and on?,maybe 2 wire trick? or wrong way plugging in the drive....

so this leads to a path to the southbridge if not the southbridge itself and we have a cure for this on this forum....

Hi,
My 360 was a virgin before XBR. The eject worked fine and so did the power of the console. The only thing I have done recently is put on IX1.6 and flashed with XBR. I am going to try and eliminate the FW this weekend by flashing it with LT.
If the problem is still there and there and I get time I will try the stock nand.

Mine was not a virgin, because the 360 was brought to me as a repair and when i got it, it had a hitachi bricked drive in but this was not the original drive because when i read the nand the original drive was a sammy ms28, so i would say someone has knackered the eject button on the board, i jtagged the board without trying the eject just thinking it was ok. i don't think it's the j-tag that has done it because i've done other j-tags on xennon boards and the eject has worked fine. it's gotta be what someone else has done.

the tray_status line cure wouldnt be an option here, because dash is able to control the functions,

more sounds like some issue on the line between the eject button and the southbridge

Does the eject button make a "click" sound when you press it?

if the drive ejects fine with remote, you should give your eject button some solder, worked for me in a Zephyr, the problem was noticed after the XBR install, and I've seen at least 4 boxes do so, it does the clicking sound but won't open.

Cheers for the info but i tried putting some fresh solder on the joints but it didn't work, it must of been damaged when someone else tried to flash the drive before i got it.

well then you can read up on here and see what you want to do

switch goes into a 10 ohm resistor on top of board then drops under the motherboard then back on top as shown in the pic.
then ends up going to the southbridge then ends up on the dvd power plug (pin 2) as pin 1 is empty
looking at the top pic
right side of the resistor (R1G3) yo can check for conductivity to pin 2 on the dvd power connector.
this is with the switch left alone (not pressed)...
left side of the resistor(R1G3) to pin 2 on dvd power connector should show 10 ohms when the switch is pressed in.
(mine shown 9.95 close enough)

so bottom line after checking this is either that 10ohm resistor (R1G3) is blown or it's the sense control within the southchip
which brings you to this post...

this is if you checked everything along the way of the eject button...

so start reading....DVD eject problem

or bottom line is,
you have a good choice to buy a southbridge chip and have it re-balled and heated back on after removable of the failed one to
