Anyone having problems getting XBReboot to run higher than 480p? In the settings it says I need to switch the AV/HDTV switch to HDTV even thou it is, it works normally on another console. I thought it might be something to do with XBR being based on NTSC so flashed my config blocks but that didn't sort it I'm running a PAL XBR, and I'm getting 1080p out. Nothing special, swapped kv with bincrypt before flashing.

XBR_Xenon_8955_1.rar @ xbins XBReboot Block Layout:
Ox00 - 0x2F 4548 boot FW 0x30 - 0x3F Backup Xell 0x40 - 0x4F XBRfw.bin Rebooter core 0x50 - 0xBF Patch.bin Kernel and patches 0xC0 - 0x?? Flash file system
Version: XBRfw 0.5beta Initial The fw version need not change for any given Patch.bin
Patch.bin is what needs to change for any new patch The following are Patch.bin versions
8955_0: Initial Don't need xextool: automatically detect correct key for dev or retail xex. Drag and drop any xex to cdr. No specific secdata.bin or crl.bin requirements.
8955_1: Add support for PIRS Fixed Backup Xell
HowTo:
1) Extract KV and Config blocks from orig.bin
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawkv.bin 1 1 nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
2) Inject those blocks into XBR.bin
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1 nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
3) Flash result
nandpro lpt: -w16 XBR.bin
Notes:
There is no need to unpack and repack pirs files! This is a limitation of freeboot. Not XBR. Aside from that major difference, all functionality is the same.
Individual sections can be updated or extracted seperately using nandpro.
The image can be made to work for all 16M consoles.
The standard method of using build.py can be used to change the 4548 boot FW portion of the flash to the console type.
Generally:
Create the image as described above. The command to rebuild it might look like this:
build.py XBR.bin CB CD update.bin xell-1f.bin XBRfw.bin smcp.bin
Then the .ecc file result from build.py would be "flashed" back into the XBR
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 image_00000000.ecc

For me, I got it working properly, controllers connect, unpacked and unflagged PIRS/CON/LIVE stuff ran properly from CD-R, an 80GB ex-PS3 HDD as drive, working properly.
But then that HDD won't detect on the tools for accessing the hard disk (of course, it's missing the HDSS.bin) but then I went and used an real XBOX360 20GB HDD for some testing and then HDDs formated on real 8599 XBOX consoles won't work with the rebooter (show as 13.9gb free) and if I format it on the rebooter console the real 8955 consoles will see the hard disk with 13.9gb free even while the rebooter console see all data installed on it. Funky. Data connectivity tools can't access disks that have ben set up or written by the rebooter dashboard, no matter if the HDD is official or not... That kind of kept me from testing stuff I wanted to.
To install I just flashed XBR to the target console then on top of it I flashed it's original keyvault and config block, as recommended by Redline99.
Edit: Now out to test xbr rev1 lol

Ok I have got my nand for LPT 3X. But I realized I havent put the diodes J2D2.1 - DB1F1, J2D2.2 - RF PANEL PIN 6 and the wire between J2D2.4 - J2D2.7. Do I need that done to get XBRreboot working? Do I need to do that and then read my nand again? Thanks in advance.
Ok I found out it doesn't matter for reading the nand, so I am good there. Do I need them to run xbreboot

is there a way to update with this latest release from XeLL or gentoo live? I really don't want to be taking my box apart and resoldering the cable every time a new release hits

Im getting confused as to if people are talking about freeboot or xbr0 or xbr1 now EDIT: I had no problems with xbr0, but I cannot get xbr1 to work. Black screen, time out to rrod. Tried replacing keyvault only. And tried also replacing keyvault/config. Both with bincrypt and nandpro.

This worked for me. nandpro xbr1.bin: -r16 super_patch.bin 30 90 Overwritting xbr0 0x30 - 0x3F Backup Xell 0x40 - 0x4F XBRfw.bin Rebooter core 0x50 - 0xBF Patch.bin Kernel and patches nandpro usb: -w16 super_patch.bin 30 90 Backup xell works, as does xbr. EDIT: PIRS check removal now works. MAME for retail can now be run from the hdd.
