with 360_Flash_Tool Retail 0v88b I have no problem to extract files.
sfumato: dont patch anything by flash tool before do this... i have simillar error when i change my ldv and trying ibuild after it... flash your nand into xbox, run... it should work! read again and use this one u read... there will be few diferences but ibuild will see this correct now or use one bofore u changed it, it looks like u change something in kv section... |

It would help if you described your setup and how you went about installing the freeboot image well sorry lol i tried to install xbr cause i don't have a dual nand setup : dumped my nand extracted the kv.bin from it, inserted my kv.bin into xbr and reflashed xbr to my 360 with nandpro. i have the jtag wiring in place (i can run xell just fine) thanks for the help  |

My problem is that i get the blank screen after inserting my KV and flashing XBR. Im sure someone herre can point me in right direction. My Setup: -Xenon with redline xell previously/currently working. (3x330 ohm resistors) No dvd drive, Bad block 61 on nand. PAL AUS system, dash 6717 i think -Backup nands seem corrupt, i dumped 3 times a month or so ago never checked for a match  Ive tried flashing all 3 back and get error 71. -KV in corrupt backup nand dumps seems fine when I open in 360 flash tool, I can see dvd key/OSIG/region and all details appear correct. I can also extract my KV this way with no errors. -I used nandpro orig.bin: -r16 kv.bin 1 1 to get the KV file. -I flashed XBR using nandpro lpt: -w16 xbr.bin-I flashed the kv.bin file to nand using nandpro lpt: -w16 kv.bin 1 1-Xbox turns on but no video signal, middle light flashes (normal with no dvddrive) -Ive also tried patching the KV to XBR.bin then flashing with the same results -Interestingly when I flash an untouched XBR.bin i do not get xmas lights, like others -Im currently trying to patch the KV via hex 0x4200 size 0x4200, ima hex noob  is it normal for the file to take over an hour to save once ive patched our KV in its only 16kb right??? -Also got frustrated and reflashed xell to make sure i dont have a complete brick....it boots fine with xenon_hacked.bin flashed Hope its just something simple, any ideas guys? |

its probably that bad block..
xbr doesn't do remapping
use ibuild & freeboot instead..

That sucks, but thanks again for the advice Icekiller. I might just holdoff in the hope there will be tools to correct this kind of thing for XBR, good chance it will be a common issue. Or maybe a patch to freeboot that allows this off of a single nand. Another quick question, if i finally get XBR working. I could dump game files then use xextools to 'remove all media attributes'. Copy to 360 hdd, to say one of my game demo folders...... would I be on the right track here people? |

pir/live packages have a max size of 4 (or 4,4) gb .. games are usually bigger then this

For anyone who wants to boot up Xell instead of the hacked dashboard, instead of buying a remote control or a wired controller, hook up a USB keyboard to the back USB port and simply press the Windows key (the one to the right of the Ctrl and to the left of the Alt) It is the "guide" button on keyboards.
I couldnt get my xbox to turn on pressing that button, will it only work on certain usb keyboards. |

It does. I've launched CpX3 from cd just fine.. you just have to make sure the xex is called default.xex and NOT encrypted.
