I've tried SPP, EPP, ECP as well as with and without the diode in each of those modes.

No matter what I do, the read starts erroring out with Error 280 and Error 380 alternating for any block over 0200.  It is a Falcon motherboard.

Any ideas on what I can try next?

Well...I gambled, and patched the NAND even though I had errors after block 200 and everything works fine.  Guess I got lucky.

Hi,

- Are you using the latest version of Nandpro2?
- Have you re-installed port95nt.exe (located in Nandpro2 directory)
- Have you tried using lower wattage 100ohm resistors? (0.6 watt worked for me)
Available here: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=341564 (M100R)
- Are you using a switching diode(s)?
- What operating system are you running?
- What motherboard revision do you have?
- Have you tried the JTAG without the resistors? (Not recommended, but has worked for some people)
- Have you triple checked all of your connections, and set "standard" mode in the computer bios for LPT configuration?

Will help as best I can upon your reply.

All the best.

Dale.

First dump ever, got the same problem. I stopped the dump, hit the up arrow, (to bring up the last command) hit enter, and it read out fine, never had the problem since, I guess I"m just lucky.

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

@ n00bpwner360

Was it from precisely the same block? (200)

That would suggest some intermittent problem with the program, but given that you haven't had the problem since this is indeed a strange case.

Anyone able to share more light on the exact cause of the problem?

Yes, it got too 200, I don't remember if it read out 200, but either way 201, 202, 203, etc had error 280 I believe. It was something like this

Reading Block 200
Error 280: Reading Block 201
Error 280: Reading Block 202

Shortly afterwards I cancelled, so I didn't let it dump all the way, maybe later on there would have been different error codes. AFAIK, 200 is half way between 000 and 3FF, so maybe there is a slight bug in trying to access the upper 8mb of the nand...who knows...funny because I've been trying to dump backups with my liteon w/ 0800 fw on it, and I get to 50.0% on every game, and the drive refuses to dump any further...what is it with getting to the half way point stopping? lol

Am having this problem myself.  consistently having problems above block 200.  Just kept at until it worked.
