up to 1 million banned, how many people had the Liteon drives ? how many people had flashed their liteon drives. How many people were crying out for the opportunity to revert their 360 back to stock and a few people have said that the stock firmware did not exist.  How many people could have been saved a ban if this firmware was available so they could revert their drive back to stock, and these so called xbox sceners stood by and let it happen without helping them.  It is naive to think that M$ don't know how the drives are hacked, they are probably in the inner circle.

What would piss M$ off the most, people able to mod their own drives, or people making megabucks off their technology, if you were after sueing someone where would you start!

right i wasent going to comment but i think i might aswell let off some steam,

The term hacking means : getting something to do something it was not programmed to do / defieing its retail status
what people seem to forget is most of the hackers these days spend alot of time making ways / finding ways to defie retail products.
to a point this is someones work who we are cracking and since its my hardware i think i have the right to do that dont you ? , just because people are charging for this doesent mean $#!t all people it happens , if hackers wernt getting payed for this were wouyld we be ? no f***ing were .

So like c4eva and others have done by charging for the exploints they have found is good as it motivates them to want more and more and more meaning they want to get it done quick and make a quick bit of $$, I aggree with Iriez as he stated people steal it and sell it BUT i do think a sorry is in order to the guys who found this .

With the assistance of other unnamed associates (unless they want to let me know if they want to be credited, then I will amend this statement) who found out the original method that Geremia (once again) released without the consent of the original author.

This is the 2nd time that Geremia has taken information that was compiled in a group environment, and took it to the public without gaining the consent (or even bothering to ask permission!) of the majority of people who did the REAL work! This was not even HIS work!

If you would have gotten out of your goddamn CAVE and SPOKE to people and worked with them instead of being the solo assassin! Have you not heard of team work man?

Do you even bother reading your nonsense afterwards to make sure it makes sense?  First you accuse him of stealing the group work of other people, then roughly 5 "paragraphs" later in the same post you say he was a solo assassin in a cave and not speaking to anyone.  So which is it?  You're such a self-righteous douche, it makes me sick.  "I'm a public servant, it's my job to worry about the future" blah blah blah.  Get over yourself.  It's funny how every time there's a cash-grab scheme you seem to be right out in front, leading the way and throwing as many excuses as to why this is really "good for us" at the wall as you can to see if any of them stick.  You don't have a crystal ball, you don't know what the future holds, so charging money to do something purely on the assumption that you're somehow "protecting" the next drive is ridiculous.  It's a thinly veiled (at best) cash-grab and luckily it seems 95% of the people see right through it.

@Geremia - Thank you for your continued work and for your spirit and attitude towards open sharing and community.  The same goes for Maximus and TMF.  Iriez seems to think he owns the 360 hacking scene and gets to tell EVERYONE what information to release and when.  It's good to see a group of individuals stand up and do their own thing.  What Geremia said is exactly right, it's HIS hobby and he's free to release whatever he feels like releasing.  It's not his or anyone else's job to worry about how it hurts Lord Iriez's pockets.

Could you please stop your moral and ethic posts here? It should be a technical topic here, not a 'who's ripping money off from this' thread.

wouldnt this work for soldless or atleast part solderless?Huh?

sliddon, i dont think theres going to be a non solderless method. those traces need to be lifted. there are no tracks to cut on that side of the board. try looking at the other side maybe.

ok mate just a idea but instead of cutting the tracks then you could use a razor and cut the 2 legs then have a probe connected to 3.3v for read
and just use somthing to bridge 101 to 100 just to get status x72

i cant see any reason why it wouldnt work

Uh no, flashing back an already flagged console has no use at all...  About every single modded 360 that has been playing backups after the august 360 update is either flagged/banned I guess.

YOU hack the console, YOU take the risk of getting banned. Simple as that. The 'scene' ownes you or anyone else the original fw etc. You bite the bullit, ban, buy new 360 and stay original or wait for C4E's Lite Touch.

@ Iriez:

"People like you and c4e are ruining the scene!!! Making individual decisions that HURTS the entire scene!!!! internal algorithms made and used for very private encryption schemes by vendors is NOT public information!!!

THIS is the kind of stuff that is KILLING the modding scene! Geremia, do you WANT us to be completely locked out??? How the hell do you think we are going to defeat future drives once they PATCH this hole!?!?!"

Stop the crying. Microsoft probably know exactly where the holes are already, and as soon as the drives get hacked they get another revision in shops, again changing stuff. Really, if it would be kept secret the only thing is a small group of people will be able to earn a lot of money with it. In the end Microsoft at least about releases a new drive about once every year. Lately they stepped up in the game with some more revisions of the Lite On brand.

Get over it, stop the crying, every new drive is hacked again, its the endless cat & mouse game it has always been.

"How the hell do you think we are going to defeat future drives once they PATCH this hole!?!?!"

The same as it was found out how to hack:

Hitachi and T/S, then BenQ, then Lite On, then LO new fw 83850 and now the new ones. There. All info should be accessible one way or another.

LOL Sheesh man look at all this drama $#!t? We didn't even really need that exploit / mod atm... Yeah it'd have been a awesome "last resort"  Tho I understand he just had to get it out didn't he? Just to show off his "e-Penis"

I don't see how beneficial the full FW is atm I mean sure you can flash it back to your unit and get on LIVE but your consoles prob already flagged so it doesn't matter. I've seen where someone went on and flashed their drive back to original and got back on LIVE and yeah banned! I don't think the general public understand or fully grasps the grave consequences of this $#!t bein on the out already.

Yeah M$ knows they already hack these drives but as we've seen they're still at it hard whipping out new liteons w/ more security features & we haven't saw them do the same w/ the other Drives... Possibly because they know they can secure the Liteons better than the other models due to the new chip and $#!t on it...So yeah Expect to see a new model of lite-on w/ more security on it. Yeah sure the scene will hack it and get er done as always before no doubt but there's always gonna be a point where they will get stuck & owned, and this is pretty much the beginning of it... Even tho it's good info to know but yeah clda have been somewhere more private ie. IRC / Pastebin 1 day post Grin

Just don't be bitchin when they finally secure the LiteOns fully...Image this...No more mods on the 360 unless you luck out snappin up a 360 that's never seen LIVE nor has a New Liteon or Dash & has a old DVD Drive or one of the modable Liteons! They are busy at work patching $#!t to counter the hacks / mods the scene comes out with don't you all even see that at all??? I mean I surly cant do a Xell JTAG Hack on a new 360 right out of the store that has the new dash and all that $#!t on it. They treat this $#!t like Windows...  Patching and updatin $#!t left and right constantly... Same for the 360... SO CONGRATS you've handed over the last key / resort to M$ so now they just gotta patch up the current hacks that are workin and this hack, then we're SOL. Then Scene is dead. Cept for the old ass 360s we find in pawn shops or ones that've never been on LIVE & Ones w/ the ole Drives... Yeah brilliant these units will RROD Down the road eventually  and the unhackable models will be all perfect / RROD Free & Hack Free & we'll be stuck w/ $#!tty ole modbawks... Damn that's awesome man I hope your happy M$ Is able to secure their $#!t more now.

Yeah the foundmy scam was bull$#!t no doubt and I hope we never see a repeat of that and if they were actually plannin on doing another scheme like that f*#k that..

Tho there's still some info best left private and not open cuz I know this thread is gonna come back and bite us all in the ass. It's naive to think M$ already knows how we hack these drives 100% and won't do a thing once they discover that someone has has let out a new method, like this out of the bag... Tho it's out of the bag now so just sit tight and be ready to see our hobby taken away from us on the new units / no more flashes Sad

I'm not part of the scene in anyway! Im just a lurker & this is just my 2 cents ./

Thanks to Geremia who started this thread by pointing others on the start point, (Knowing that in the previous days he have helped the scene a lot in the Hitachi firmware days, when the 360 Dashboard had timeout problems and we needed a software reset to boot the backup, then Geremia found the fix for the firmware... I'm sure most of the sceners have forgotten this by now...)
(Also I remember when The Specialist had the first drive hacked, also the Hitachi, and he decided to keep the method private for a while until C4Eva stepped in and released it to the public....i guess history will always repeat itself Wink  )
enough history.... as for now,we don't care who had the drive hacked in the first place, Geremia started the thread, then MRA and TMF made it progress in the right direction, let's keep it up to reach what we all want.

and at the end of the day,all the Hackers of the scene deserves respect for the hard work and passion they put into this, whenever it's our hobby, our job,etc... doesn't matter.
They all released priceless info in the name of the scene and I hope we can always have the scene going on...
Respects to : the Specialist, C4Eva, Geremia, MRA, TMF, SeventhSon, Maximus,  and many many others..

now let's get our hands on some new drives, start lifting pins, dumping keys, spoofing drives.... the usual fun going on  Smiley

Nothing is unhackable. Nothing. It just takes more time and effort, but everything gets hacked in the end. Yes, even the PS3 although its one of the longest not hacked consoles around...

by the sounds of it, modfreakz method doesn't require putting 3.3v on the 1.8 pin. I did get it to dump half way just by lifting the 1.8 pin but it froze? wouldn't work again after that, might hav ejust been coincidence

Its actually connect 1.8volts to the 3.3volt pin -- so instead of receiving 3.3v it receives 1.8.

So is there any other way of dropping the voltage on a pin from the more electrically educated here, from my research adding a pull down resister on the 3.3v pin to ground will cause the voltage to drop. So a 10k resistor connected to 101 and ground should do it. I don't know if it has to be lifted but if some antsy soul wants to try it, go for it.

I haven't messed with a xbox360 (just doing research), but electrically...

Pulling down is the most appropriate way to force a line to logic 0.  The smaller resistor, the more "force" you have to pull-down.  Depending on the I/O's driver circuit, you may need something stronger (smaller) than 10k.  You can safely experiment your way in by starting with a 10k and measuring the pin voltage.  I'm assuming a logic 0 threshold is sub 1.8V so keep reducing the resistor value until the pin measures <=1.8V.

No pin lifting or epoxy removing needed anymore! Just solder anything on the back according to this picture.
Also if you got status 0x52 instead of 0x72 with the "1,8V-method" this should do it. I already dumped 4 drives with this method without any issues.

-switch in pos 1
-power drive
-start Dosflash --> SPI should get recognized with status 0x72
-put switch in pos 2
-click "read"

unsolder anything and reconnect the lines that have been cut.

Did you only read to get the key or did you make an ix 1.6 frmware liteon 7x and
write it on the drive ?

My Question is, where you know the right spoofing details ?
From the original 9x Firmware !?

Not possible yet to write it back to LiteOn 9x ?!
