Dump your keyvault and open on winhex... If you see some "garbage" characters right before the plain text certificates, yes it's hashed... With that CB of yours I think your keyvault may be hashed. Old Xenon consoles with old style KV will be on CB 1888, 1902 or 1903...

/facepalm
If you updated recently, of course it will have some version of the new CB which blocks homebrewn. But I just said they only add hash to the keyvault at the factory/service center. So if your Xenon console never been there after it was made and is old enough will have no KV hash.

going back to my 1st post now i have a box that doesnt have the hash check i tried it out
using one of my other boxes i read the s/n and mfd from the back read the mac address from the network menu calc the console id using the mac plus mfd in xorloser tool
edited the key vault to match above and edited the config.bin to match the mac
connected to live ok so i guess this is a easer way then dumping the keyvault from a donor box if say it has taken a update aswell

good modding, would be good to see how long ya last ! but if too many people did this, or it becomes widespread, i would expect some kinda banning of CPU key instead/aswell, as that would put a stop to it all ! so Shhhhh dont let them know,
oops

People fail to realize that they cross reference IPs used to access the service due to their pishing detection system. If you play such a hacked system on live, it get detected and analyzed, your IP will be put on a watch list and then when you log in with your legitimate system and account you will be scrutinized/investigated.
I know cases of friends who had their systems being investigated multiple times in the same day (yes, the thing where MS upload diagnosis software to the console while you are playing and you notice your network go wild with packets while you're playing an offline game but are logged into live) but the said people had console bans on their account history.
I've never been console banned and never will, just because I have mine clean. But to be honest I don't feel comfortable about flagging my IP (I have a semi static IP) with such a hacked system... lol

i havnt kept the banned then edited to unbanned kv on the console because this one isnt banned anyway i just wanted to see if it could be done without a full spare kv so once it connected using the edited banned kv the test was over for me and the real unbanned kv went back lol
if i could use it on my banned one i would nothing to lose there but with the hash check it isnt going to happen

I can think of some un-legitimate uses for what that you just tried but then that's pure silliness. I won't even bother mentioning here. The few things I can say is: If you tinker with a console that has hashed keyvault you will be greet by the infamous "Christmas lights", have an "Keyvault policy violation" event stored on your security data and then the XBOX will behave like an banned console. It simply bans itself without even going to XBOX Live. So I say don't bother with tinkering with that stuff since it's somehow in the fraud area And lol all I wanted was to change it's region to Japan.

true. i think the best way to unban the 360 now is to just replace the motherboard £30 from ebay atleast then you know aslong as you dont use a flashed drive they shouldnt ban again
and who knows what they may or may not add to updates in time even changing the region may be risky
but still it was nice playing about with this stuff even thou i almost killed one box

finally, how can you edit your kv.bin? early i'd succesfully unban my falcon by put into banned falcon nand an (notbanned) kv.bin from xenon. extract rawkv from patched nand and write it into xbr for falcon. and it's work great. but if i try to edit xenon kv.bin and change id, serial and mfd, extract rawkv and write it into nand it didn't work. Controller fail to connect etc. Where is my mistake?

I know this is super OLD and I'm probably going to get flamed, but I tried this method on a banned KV. Before editing the KV) I would get a notification saying "This console has been banned... blah blah blah" After editing the KV) The console sits while connecting to XBL and finally not connecting. A network test passes to Internet but fails on XBL, yet I can view the XBL services statuses all being 'UP' Im currently running an SMC hack on a Xenon (no KV hash check) Dash 16203 (latest of this writing) What else Ive tried) removing DashLaunch (to remove the possibility of liveblock altogether) = no difference. I would try XeLive but its HV and challenge/response is out of date. (need 16203 der) Any ideas where to go from here?

You want to use XeLive, so you can get online and when they ban your KV, you would just put a new key, is that what you want to achieve? Cause if it is - better quit, no one here is going to help getting JTAG/RGH online. Plus working Xbox is like $100 you can easily get one do not modify it at all and use it online - safe and sound.

Actually just wanted to get online to poke some Mass Effect 3 credit values. Or at least see if it would stick.

you cant connect the live with a jtag or rgh xbox anymore as it results in a instant ban as they can easily detect it now so he's mad if he thinks editing the kv will do any for live.
