Is there any hope for my case?

I don't know. If app really crashes then I have to see Your dump. Please upload it to fileserver and give me link.
If there any valid secdata.bin I will give You feedback.

Many thanks boby.... here is the link: *

Don't post original NANDs here.. just send the link to him in PM. I'd ask everyone else to stick to that too.
Not only could MS get annoyed with that, they'd also have your data.

Just a question regarding FindSecData:

Is there any reason why in some screen dumps I've seen it tells you to use -W (without ECC) for the secdata, while in others (and in my case) it tells you to use -w (write with ECC)?

Edit: My apologies, posted a new one instead of editing the last post.

Method with large "W" was in older version of FindSecData. In the newest there are only "-w" options.
This is because in large block data (some 256 or 512 MB NAND) it's not possible to write properly secdata.bin without "-w" option.
I changed to "-w" since version which supports large blocks.

If i get this message: Old secdata.bin not found. Console might be not banned, already patched or secdata.bin overwritten.
Then there is no use in trying?

send us log of findsecdata (I hope it's permitted because there is small possibility to identify by this log, but I think Arakon will give us warn if we should avoid that)

What if I only have 1 copy of my nand and the same issue that darknight has?
 Cry

what have you done, describe it , give screenshot of findsecdata

I've forgot to make screenshots, but I only used the following commands:
nandpro.exe lpt: -r16 nand.bin to read the nand
and then
Findsecdata.exe nand.bin and I got almost the same info that darknight, with the final message old secdata.bin not found. Console might be not banned...blablabla
is there is any hope???

not possible to restore old secdata.bin

Boby, sorry for bother you, one last thing: If I only used the commands to read the nand and to find sec data and then get the error message; there is any chance to begin the process again? I mean, the original nand has not been erased or overwrited yet (so this might be a reading error)... so, I'm trying out again right now, and the pc is reading the nand, but I'm noticed that the led light on xbox is not turned on, is this ok?

In fact application crashes when reaches to search for recommended actions on 0x01 change, but
results of searching filetables is ok.

Checked Your NAND and it's a pity there is not online activity at all so we can't even reach first banned one secdata.bin and older one neither. It's unrecoverable to HDD installs functionality.

I hope you didn't turn on Your XBOX at all after connecting to PC. I don't know the results of turning it on,
but I suppose it could smash Your NAND.
It must be turned off all the time.

I have a unique situation. Block 0 on the nand is bad, and only block 0. I have done a full dump 3 times, all dumps are the same. Have tried to dump that one block 20+ times and no luck, error 250 every time.

unfortunately findsecdata 0.61 crashes every time, only manages to spit out this.

Code:
findsecdata v0.61 2009-12-01 by boby2pc
Controller version 3
Last filetable change: 0x00

any suggestions?

You are right that findsecdata doesn't support rellocation of bad block 0  Embarrassed
If You upload that dump I will help You to find proper patch (if it's not overwritten).
If there will be more occurences I will try handle that block 0 rellocation.

thanks for the offer but I figured it out. unbanned goodness now.
I'm guessing the bad block 0 is a real rarity. lucky me lol

Using nandpro should trigger reset state at the console, so should be safe, and forbid the console to be started

Alright, tried reading the three blocks a couple of times, the 550 one gives me the same result each time, block 555 and 556 have a few bits varying each time. I guess they're just defect blocks?

I think all three are bad blocks. They shouldn't have any impact on patch You make.

Code:
ECC change: 0x2A Filetbl: 0x0E6A Secdata: 0x0389 Timestamp: 3B685D43 2009-11-08 11:42:06
ECC change: 0x29 Filetbl: 0x0E61 Secdata: 0x00CA Timestamp: 3B5C94C7 2009-10-28 18:38:14
ECC change: 0x23 Filetbl: 0x0B5F Secdata: 0x007A Timestamp: 3B5C94C7 2009-10-28 18:38:14

Use:
nandpro.exe lpt: -w512 Patchedsecdata00CA.bin E69 1
nandpro.exe lpt: -w512 Patchedfiletable0E6ABy0E61.bin E6A 1

I'll backup those two sectors (E69 and E6A) a couple of times and then I'll try the two above commands. Hopefully it'll restore HDD installations :)

If You didn't reboot Your console after dump or other updates then it must work.

Right you are, it seems to work. Just tried one game so far, but that worked atleast. HDD installs are back! Ah, the silence Cheesy

However, one thing I've noticed when I power off the Xbox now is it stays on for a couple of seconds after the lights are out, with the fans running. No idea why, it's never done that before and I've no idea what it's doing.

I have this, too. Probably because unplugged of the network. But this doesn't happen everytime. Or nand is updated. Dunno ... Duncare Wink

Yeah, I figured it was because I've no network cable plugged in anymore (I've taped up the port on the back, just in case).

Anyway, a big thank you to boby2pc for his great tool and to everyone who contributed to this "fix". At least my Xbox won't sound like it's about to lift off anymore Smiley

"boby2pc"

hi all well, I'm having trouble getting my HD back to work, when I run findsecdat 0.61 says that he did not find the old secdata. I did an update after it was banned. Will I have any solution?

Thanks in advance.

Finally , my secdata pre ban will be overwritten if I :

... ?

Some are saying that if I play too much after I got banned my old secdata will be overwritten , is that really true ? If I just turn on the console and play a game my old secdata will be overwritten ?

If someone could say what causes the secdata to be overwritten I'd appreciatte VERY much .

PS : Good job btw boby2pc , thanks for helping everybody Smiley

Checked Your NAND and there is only valid secdata.bin which is propobly the banned one, so older one it not recoverable.

Please REMOVE LINK to Your nand from post ! It's not permitted here.
