ok ive been reading alot of posts about the new ban wave on xbox live and that it removes the hdd game install from the console perm
this sucks if you have a 250gb hdd and just want to keep using the 360 after a ban offline
so i was thinking what if we take a nand backup of the new 8xxxx update before a ban then if we get banned simply restore the nand i know it would still be banned from live without a new keyvault but shouldnt this restore the hard drive install option so we can atleast make use of are hdds?
they must remove it from the dash once banned because the hdds still work in other 360s
also i have my cpu key and spare keyvaults so if i get banned would a new keyvault restore the game install option by itself or would i need a fresh 8xxxx update

What are you talking about cant install games to the hdd thats bs but ill see if my friend can do it it dosent matter if it ban or not + then they ban you they blacklist the xbox from live not change anything on the nand.

Actually he his right, for some reason a banned console cannot install to HDD.

i'm interested in this... basically you'd need to backup your nand everytime a new kernel comes through xboxlive... and as soon as you get banned and hdd installs are blocked, you flash your latest nand backup, and hdd installs would work again? Correct? no need for jtag or cpukeys right?

They delete secdata.bin. crl.bin, odd.bin and extended.bin... Good luck restoring that (particularly after update for 8xxx dash/kernel) |

you don't need cpukey to dump or restore a nand... so as long as you have a backup of the nand not banned yet, you could flash this back and get hdd installation to work again
Also As soon as your gamertag is touched on a banned console, it'll come corrupt on an unbanned 360 as well.... so you can't gather achiements on a banned console and take that onto xboxlive

my boy just got banned only played a handful of games, and these ARE of originals that we own, as he's at his mums half the week (were there is no chipped console and lots of originals) then at mine the rest, were i brought 360, and backup up his games so he dont have to keep remebering to bring them over to mine never ran um throught ABGX etc he did get one warning that it was scrathed about a day ago, i just burnt another and all was good ? maybe a sign ? anyhows back on topic ! i HAVE got backups from all his past updates and the current will dump again now its been banned and do some comparing ...... I got banned even though i wasnt playing on xbox live. I always played offline. Anyways, so ive been playing Modern Warfare 2 now, and have been getting achievements and being able to perform game saves without my console corrupting anything.

Anyone (dumb enough) who wants to delete crl.bin? I made an app that does just that (only 16MB dumps though) the console doesn't corrupt anything, it locks the savefiles to the banned console.
According to xor's blog, it'll just put your box into crl.bin and thereby lose the ability to sign... |

well i have dumps before and after ban ..
they DO NOT mess with CRL, or KV or extendedKV, all the changes seem to be in secdata only ....
at 0x02E is the biggest change ... mines now at 40 (were as it was always at 00)
alot of other stuff changes, but i think that changes every boot anyhows ?
but file compare or CRL is EXCATLY the same before ban, and after ....
(althou trying to flash back my original NAND before ban (same dash) has given me 3RL 4422 !?)
