Hi,

I dumped "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" using my ms28 via the ix1.6 0800 firmware. I used XBC and Schtrom to dump the whole disc.

I checked both dumps with xbgx - No errors, everthingy stealth. Now I calculated the md5 sum of both dumps ... and they are diffrent!!

Whats going wrong?

Where are they different, I cant just guess without some more information.
Get out the hexeditor and start comparing or something.
What rip speed, is the disc perfect or scratchy, did you have any errors?
How are you calculating the md5? What tool? Are you skipping the SS?

You need to be a lot more specific if you want any answers.

Hi,

the disc is perfect. No scratches or something.

Rip-Speed was set on 12x

I don't skip the SS files, I always dump the whole disc (in XBC and Schtrom)

I used "MD5 Calculator" to calculate the md5 sum of the files.

I dumped the game again with XBC and as result I got a different md5 sum, so I got two different dumps from the same game made by XBC ... and I didn't chang the options in XBC - same options like on the first dump

Where are they different [...]

Uhmm, I don't know. I can't compare the two dumps with a Hexeditor

// Edit:

Same with Schtrom ... dumped one game two times - got a different md5 hash

You can't md5 the whole file and expect consistent results. Since the SS changes or can change each time.

I extracted the SS files for about 7 times ... I got two pairs of extractions which are the same.

So it doesn't matter? It's normal that we often get different SS extractions? Just the gamedata, pfi and dmi must always be same ... okay

if you want to compare dumps, use schtromxtract 4.1 > stealth check.. (open it up twice).. to compare CRC32 results on both iso's ... it'll show alot of CRC32's of different sections of the ISO which you can compare

the only things that normally would be different would be the SS.. and the raw SS... everything else should match.. if not there's something the matter with your dumps that are made

Are the SS-Extractions of backups are also different or are they always the same?
