I've been informed that Cars Race-O-Rama is shipping with the exploit killing update 8498. You can use Xbox Backup Creator's Image Browser to view the version number. Go into the $SystemUpdate folder and click on the file: su20076000_00000000. The version number will be displayed on the form's lower left corner. You do not want to apply this update.

You can just hex edit the folder name in the iso "$SystemUpdate" to "SSystemUpdate" then it wont locate the file to update. But eventually the xex will have amin ketnel version check that you cannot change, I dont know if this game's min check is that high or not.

Hi Redline,
Is there anyone left that you know of that will bother with another firmware to address wave 4 or just back track to 1.51?
Thank you.

Thanks for the prompt response. Can people go back to 1.51 in the meantime since 1.6 has the strict wave 3 set? And is there a link to info as to whatever happened to c4eva? I liked following along on #fw and then suddenly was to told to shut the ^$%# up.

agree, guess the interest in jtag hack will be going down fast unless the software development can catch up with.

The best solution to run linux/homebrews and play the latest games: Get another xbox.

What is the point to use linux on a noisy 360? I would use a PC instead. but I think a basic working linux 3D opengl driver on 360 would attract many developers though, because that is what people have interests in. The fact is that the hacking team decided to go with libxenon approach, not linux. However, not only is libxenon very very incomplete by now, but also the license has a conflict with GPL, that means you have to write the majority of the code from the scratch. so the development will be very slow, and the code will be buggy.

christ give it chance, homebrew + online / uptodate gaming dont match full stop, if u want to deviate and play, go buy a 2nd box like the rest of us - not as tho they are expensive now
