So i am using a usb spi that grim 187 made but i cant figure out whats wrong ive patched the xbr file and everything when i load nandpro to flash it wont. when the usb is plugged into the pc it says found new hardware then it says there was a problem or malfunction and then i went to the driver and it says unknown driver. i tryed pointing it to the config.inf for the driver but gives an error... im running windows vista 32bit and ive installed the port95 tryed both with compatiablity mode and without. Also I tryed it on my 64bit win7 labtop and its a no go. But since its home cannot do the xp emulator and I am stuck waiting for my lady to bring her xp labtop. Any ideas to why it isnt working. I also tryed turning off driver liscening on vista.  Huh Im so confused. Also if your wondering how I have the orignal bin for kv and nand config ect it was provided. I belive grim used the spi and it worked for him fine.

Most common problems:
1. The processor isn't running correctly/ at all , check powerlines, crystal etc
2. The usb isn't connected propperly check D+ D- (wrong way around?)
3. You didn't program the bootloader correctly, check selected frequency etc

had the same prob 2 times:

1) forgot 5v at pin 13
2) short between 13 and 14

check your wires

Edit: 1) this flasher worked at my laptop correctly, but not at my desktop

You will probably be better of buying a ready made one.
(probably the same price than if you bought all the tools and materials)

List for the first post in this Thread:

Reichelt Part List for the Flasher (Kon)

Reichelt Part List for the Flasher (SMD)

Reichelt Part List for the Programmer

When something is wrong, tell me and i change the Partlist.

I was wondering if we added a "ARM 2x10 pin JTAG connector" to the Darkstar flasher, could we then use this with a "wiggler clone" to program the PIC without needing a separate programmer, as detailed here? http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B5XchQrd23gfMzc5MGU1ZDYtNGMxMi00MTBmLTg1MjMtYjk1MmNlMDU2Mzc2&hl=en

If so, would someone be kind enough to show how the JTAG connector should be added to the circuit?

Using the wiggler clone JTAG to program the PIC is no better than using a simple programmer like ART2003. You need to get a device for programming in both cases.

True, but I was just thinking of being a bit lazy and only having to build one thing, as I can buy a wiggler clone for only a few quid more than the parts to build the programmer.

Reichelt Part List for the Flasher (Kon)

When something is wrong, tell me and i change the Partlist.

The usb plug is B and the wire is A, doesnt fit.
Only 5x 100 ohm is needed.
I used Kerko 33pF 500V, no idea if yours work.

500v is total overkill, considering there's only 3.3v flowing at most.
