Hi i got the gentoo v2 beta cd and i tryed running it off of usb and its a no go
i have the xenon.elf/IMAGE.SQUASHFS but it runs into error like no cd found or something like it.

The fix for this is to modify files or something like this.
(Seriously, you need to be a *bit* more specific with your error description.)

tmbinc mean that to have the kernel load the image FS from USB, kernel needs to be changed.

Do you mean that usb is not detected as a boot device ?
ie. skips to looking for cd when xell loads ?

No, the live distros are meant to boot from a cd. vmlinuz kernel is built to look for it's filesystem (system files/programs etc) on a dvd drive, patching it to look on usb and rebuilding would be necissary to have a live distro on usb.
