yes, you can change region that way, given that you have your cpu key.

no, the cpu key is NOT stored in the nand, but, as the name says, on the CPU. and xell will display the cpu key without ever booting linux.. as mentioned several times before.

At the moment, can you do anything else with xell rather than reading your CPUKEY? (For instance, is the new Linux live cd released yet)

I just unsoldered the parralel cable from my xbox's mobo, this is clean, flash dump worked flawlessly just before. but now that the xbox is back to normal i get a "RRoD", the console was working fine just before dumping the nand. Where could that come from ? I didn't unsolder R6T3 as i was just to dump the NAND, not flashing nor enything else. Thanks for your inputs edit: i disassembled the whole console again and now it's working fine again like it should while it's open. No big deal then. Damn i hope now it'll continue to work when i'll have it in one part :p edit 2: wow actually the dvd drive seemed to be plugged in with power feed inverted. Kids, just don't do drugs, that's bad ! edit 3: everything is working good now, sorry for this worried post.

I just flashed xenon_hacked.bin on mine and coming back with no red lights but I get an E79 error on the screen.
I verified with two dumps and both were clean showing copyright in my hex editor. Attempting to flash back now. Should I have had the r6t3 resistor removed before trying to flash?
I've done some searching around and haven't really found anyone else with this problem, just curious if you guys have any ideas what went wrong with it.

You need to solder the three resistors as instructed

They are in place already, I guess I should grab my meter and make sure they are solid. On a side note, at least my backup was good, I flashed back and it worked fine so that's a relief

You sure you are using 330ohm resistors? Take a picture

I now have three (3) NAND dumps from my zephyr Xbox, no errors all allong the way. The 3 Nand backups have same CRC (md5 AND sha1) and 'fc' on windows tells me it is same file. Microsoft's copyright can be seen in all 3 dumps with an hex editor. Now when i try to open the file with 360_Flash_Tool_v0.88 it just crashes, asks me to run the debugger i have installed right now [ MS visual studio 2008 + Intel C(++/#) Compiler v11.1* ]. Should i try on a fresh install or is 360_FLASH_TOOL_v0.88 flawed ? (I'd prefer if that crapy delphi app were )

Search for the said "DLPORTIO.sys" on google and put it in you /$system root$/system and that should do the trick. Those libraries are integrated inside the nandpro's archive and shouldn't be a problem though. Maybe your computer is good for a clean reformat...

Darkstar: The "error" may be due to Jasper boards having a different sized nand.
No. The flash chip on my Jasper board is a HY27US08281A just like the flash chips on my Xenon and Falcon boards.

if using vista or windows 7 u have to run in compatibility mode with administrators rights! e.g Right Click Port95nt.exe Properties Compatibility Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP Service Pack 2 Run this program as an administrator ok Hope this helps!

Error: 250 reading block 304 What does this error mean? A bad block? What is the difference to 258? It happens at the same block each time. Flash config is 01198010. 3 dumps are identical.

finally managed to get the adaptor soldered to my 360 but have run into some problems reading the flash. I havent managed to get a diode to try yet as there were none in stock at my local shop.
Quick question though, should my 360 power on when the parralel cable is attached to the pc? as i cannot turn on my 360 if the lpt port is connected. If i plug it in when the xbox is already on then the center light starts flashing. Is this a sign of a bad connection somewhere?
