You know, "bunnie" did do that at 24c3. It got a lot of attention:

Holy smokes.  I haven't logged into here for years.  The real scene for an end user like myself has been dead for a long time degenerating only to DVD hacks and RROD fixes.  A far cry from the glory days.

I hope everyone relaises the magnitude of this.  The scene will once again flurish, suprises and interesting discussions will once again be alive.  I cannot wait to see what can be done on a 3 core 512meg TV ready appliance.  The journey begins!

You people keep impressing me with ways to get around the barriers. I don't expect that to count at all for you Tongue but still. Keep up the good work Smiley
I look forward to seeing what options this will bring us.

I think Tmbinc has made this pretty clear that if you updated, it will not work, and the reason why.

Yeah i'll have to agree, since the update likely bruns an eFuse(In fuseline 2) to prevent 2BL downgrade there is presumably no way to run the blacklisted updates anymore even if the pairing and associated hashes are correct. So basically updating to 2.0.8498.0 is a one way trip for now anyway.

my questions only refers up regioncode patching.

Ah, sorry i missed that part...

Well i don't see why not, it's not like the keyvault is signed or anything(yet anyway, that i know of), since you have the CPU-key i think it should work just fine as before.

I would have to agree, I just wonder how long it's going to take until retail 360s come with the 8498 kernel. That will be a sad day (assuming all goes as planned with this big release :x).

Glad to see you, lol. But I'm pretty sure this and the rebooter project are two different projects.

QUOTE(nickcas @ Aug 11 2009, 07:50 PM) *

Too bad its still coming out.

Tmbinc:
Because *I* do have everything required for the exploit on my harddisk, and *I* still have the intention to release it. I don't know where this "it's a leak" comes from, but I consider it as bull$#!t."
We're still good guys.

tmbinc doesn't have everything he needs to give what he announced. Not all of the work is his, and everyone except for him is against what he did, he had no permission to do what he did.

Nothing big is coming from this.

What he did saved alot of people from updating, I still don't understand why people are trying to keep this kind of thing under wraps, people are treating it like this will kill all the kittens in the world. Honestly settle down with the bashing.

Why are you quoting that? That situation was dealt with.
