I've been looking around and found that it can be done by messing with wires inside the ps3 (swapswitch method).
I was just wondering if it is possible to use software to do this? Like homebrew with a backup loader? Dont get mad at me it's just Ideas As I had ps2 that played backups but it's now broken and I'd like to play my backups without going and searching for my original copies out the attic.

you can with swapmagic, even from HDD.. but you still need to do the swap crap and install an actual switch.
