Hello, i tryed to flash this hitachi drive with jungle flasher, and i f***ed up. still don't knw why. and now i've got a few questions.

I have a ckv3 and a probe for all the lite on drives. so i removed the via 6421 drivers for the liteon problem with them.
i had a real hard time getting the drive to show up in jungle flasher(it dit say it wqas connected on port properties, but not on the right side of the screen where i had to select the drive,)
so reinstalled the via 6421 drivers and the problem went away,
i then used the guide to flash and got a bad flash presumably.(drive wont open anymore, so go figure)

but before i did all of this i tryed maximus firmware toolbox, but i could only select the old ixtreme 1.4 firmware and not the new 1.6, so i used jungle flasher instead.

does anyone know why i couldnt select the newest firmware in maximus toolbox?

also i figured that my drive is dead right?
isn't the some sort of clip i can clip on the chip so that i don't have to desolder that thing?

and if i where to buy an benq drive, how do i go about flashing an spoofing the drive?

tnxx

FWToolbox doesn't come with 1.6...and there is no 1.6 for Hitachi period, yes your drive is dead (but the key is still there). It will need to be re-programmed externally...no there is no "clip on chip" (this isn't the Wii scene  Grin) - don't worry about flashing or spoofing, get it re-programmed first (PM me if interested).
