Semi-Controller Deteriation

Aight well for the last week when i go to turn on my 360 with my controller the lights just pulse.This creates a problem because than i must walk 5 ft. to turn on my system. But when the system pops on the controller reacts immediatly. I tryed pressing the controller reset buttons is there something im missing? Can that function just go bad? I know its not a big issue but any feedback would be appreciated, thanx!
