hi i tried to flash my ms25(as sticker says) sammy with JF, first thing i saw it says it was ms28, i did a little research and seems to be related to past ixtreme flashes, i wanted to upt from 1.4 to 1.6. when it started to erase and write (i did everything, 800disc, read, etc), it hanged writing bank 0...
so now it doest eject the tray and any win app doesnt seems the drive connected.
i have the original key, fw, and cfw.
i tried mktflash and dosflash(1.7b) on dos with no luck, tried the 10sec trick, also turn it on, off, then on when i hit enter w or R command, or sata port on mkt & dosflash.
i have an intel ich5 integrated.
dosflash seems to find a drive on my port as the others one says none this one seems something undentyfied.
is there an specific way to unbrick the drive? does it needs a via card ?
also anyone knows the correct command for manual for a sammy on dosflash?
thanks

sammys cant be bricked its simply got a corrupted fw on it and wont respond

you need a via chipset first off to do the 10 sec trick

use your orig.bin to make 1.6 sam-CFW.bin in JF then boot to dos and manually use mtkflash to erase and write to the drive using the 10 sec trick

Use DOS and mtkflash for this method- Connect another SATA device (another xbox drive or pc hdd) to your PC using the same SATA cable that will be used to flash the Sammy. Boot to DOS and type mtkflash w /m fw.bin and let it identify devices. Disconnect the SATA device that was used and select the device from the device list. Wait 10 seconds and plug in the Sammy. It should start writing.

Make sure you select the correct device from the device list.

This might also require a VIA 6421 card. Not sure if it will work with that chipset.

no need to quote

10 sec trick AFAIK only works with via chipsets and also doesnt need you to hotswap out anything if done correctly.

Sure, that's why i said i'm not sure if it would work with an intel chipset.

hi, thanks for all your answers, i tried everythig in my ICH5 so it might not be compatiblei just order a VIA card to see if i can get other results...
BTW i got the CFW1.6.bin (i opened in jf and its has the correct key), orig.bin and key.bin before trying to flash it and semi-bricked, are these ok to write on it? i double checked the key, make like 3 backups of everything even send it to my gmal... LoL
thanks again
