My luck is running out...
I upgraded one xbox to 1.6 today. No problem. My second one not so much.

I used lite one erase in jf I was running 1.5. I cant remember what happend. Anyways. I got to writing the firmware and it was really slow. Then verification failed. Outro failed. So I erased again. Now my drive is not detected at all.

My liteon is not recognised in dosflash16/32 or jungleflash.

I have tried dosflash 16 in manual mode using dosflash liteon e aswell as l-o-erase specifiying my command base. Both returned erase...ok! erasing complete.
 I power cycled then typed
Code:
dosflash w 01f0 0 b0 2 0 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
however, it says mtk intro failed then askes to send magic 28. I pressed no. Then it did half tray. Well its erased. So I paperclipped it manually and pressed y. Didnt work. So did the last one where you keep powercycling. Status stays at 0x7f and will no change. If i specify a wrong port it gives 0xff so I know it is the correct command base. Dosflash recognised a BENQ straight off so it is not my equiptment. Could this be a bricked liteon?

P.S. I even changed sataports and tried both master and slave.

Cheers for ANY help Smiley

does you drive open when press eject
if it doesnt you firmware is erased.
the code for write is C:>DosFlash w (port #) 1 a0 1 4 c:/ix15.bin 0  ix15 replace with name
and put the firmware at root of you usb
use dosflash 1.7
Code for Liteon erase is DosFlash LITEON E (port #)

correct me if im wrong

you don't have to use commands for dosflash, you can do everything by selection, which works equally well

@.ISO: It's not the first drive I have flashed. I normally use the guide as you said. However my problem is the dosflash will not recognise my drive.
@ShadXo: I tried flashing it manually on the odd chance that it would work even though it was not detected. It didnt work. After I liteon e command I get status 0x7F. It should be 72.

I tried changing controlers from the IDE to sata, and I have tried different IDE ports also. Non of which worked.

I sent the command
dosflash w 01f0 0 a0 2 0 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
the 2 represents the MTK type.
This failed.
The device is not picked up and when it asks you to powercycle the status stays at 0x7F power on or off.

Any more ideas?

and if you use other code like mine?
not dosflash w 01f0 0 a0 2 0 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
but then dosflash w 01f0 1 a0 1 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
maybe i isnt that the problem
i tried getting the same status useing and benq.
erased the firmware then it react as liteon
i tried that and it worked.
if it dont get the good status you must try powercycle it more till good status.
and then try dosflash w 01f0 1 a0 1 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0.
dosflash w 01f0 1 a0 1 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
dosflash w 01f0 1 a0 1 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
 keep trying:P

mine got a 0x80 and when i powercycle it again it returns back to 0x7F.
after a few trys it goes again to 0x80
so try try try:P
but the code worked to write
Maybe try changing ports or sata cable

Power on the drive with tray half-open.

Type into DOS -> l-o-eras XXXX (your port number)

You should get FF80

Type the same again, you should get status FF72

Now use dosflash as it should pick up your Liteon's flashrom.

IF NOT... When you type dosflash and it gives you the error "No identify..." and doesn't identify the Liteon flash, just use the "Liteon E" command to erase. Then power cycle the drive and try dosflash again.

From my experience, you need to erase the liteon first, then go straight on to flash as any power cycles will result in status 80 until erased again.

Hope this helps

dosflash w 01f0 0 a0 2 0 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
dosflash w 01f0 1 a0 1 4 c:\1\jcfw.bin 0
Format is
DOSFLASH [R|W|E] [PORT] [PORT TYPE] [DRIVE POS]*MTK TYPE?* [FLASH TYPE] [FLASH SIZE] [FLASH SECTOR ERASE OPCODE] [FILE NAME]

MTK is not documented in the readme but in dosflash /?
If I use your command, its only changing from an IDE port to a sataport. Which I have tried (using my sata port).  you set the flash type to parralel. I have not tried this, but I belive this wont work. I will give it a try tomorrow though. I powercycled a good 50times.

@mushy408: This does not work. no matter how many times I run it I get FF7F. As far as I remember. Taking your instructiosn in mind I will also try this. However I belive I ahve done these steps too.

Any more suggestions?
Cheers by the way Smiley

Could be a fried Liteon. Have you put the power connector in reverse? This also kills the laser straight away (i know myself  Roll Eyes )

Status FFFF means there's nothing there

It seems to me the drive has been erased. How ever if you had saved the dump then you should be okay.
I personal like use jungleflasher, only thing now is you may not able to detect drive in JF. But it is easy to overcome, just start up Windows with a good xbox360 drive connect, then swap to a dead one. For me I have done a lot of flash, I haven't got a bad flash chip, but in your case if you have done other Liteon drive before, then it may be you got a bad flash chip. If that is the case then you may need an other drive. As I said if you have saved dump then it should be no problem. eg, you got the key.
