Fixed RROD and got surprise 2858 kernel

fixed another rrod and got an unexpected surprise. its at kernel 2858. what are my options with this.

upgrade to 4532 and dump the CPU key etc...no downgrading needed at all

im getting the rest of these rrod's done then ill probably get started with that. havent had one i could hack yet.
any good tuts out there you could point me towards?

Should i also remove the R6T3 resistor prior to upgrading?

I asked the same question on my old box. Depends on what you want to do with the box. If you don't want to go on live, in my non-expert opinion I would suggest it. I think MS can know if the resistor is removed. Its very easy to do. I just used a fine screw driver and broke it off... scary, but it worked.

No, removing R6T3 is not nessesary for your case

just filled my 360 with red bull, now i have xbmc360 running Wink

overall what is the point of a "fully hacked" console ? I have 1 (which has been "hacked")....literally has been run less than 4 hours inc hacking time and it sits in the cupboard...and don't say homebrew cause that argument is long over Roll Eyes
