You were supposed to back yours up yourself. You need YOUR undo.bin.
The best thing you could do is just turn it into a 120Gb 360 drive.

The problem is that not HDDHACKR FLASH, FLASH has to do to do READ and HD is buggy. How do I only FLASH? This option in manual mode NOT EXIST. I need a HDDHACKR C000 A0 HDDSS.BIN. Not work with HDDHACKR C000 A0 HDDSS.BIN UNDO.BIN. The HDDHACKR can not read. just write.

Please create a HDDHACKR only make FLASH! Or add this option!

Hi everyone,
I hacked my WD1600BEVS drive some time ago now. It is now Fujitsu 120GB. Now I don't need it and would like to go back to the original firmware which will give me extra 40GB. Unfortunately my undo.bin file has gone missing. Does anyone have it so I can restore my HDD?

I would be very grateful if someone could help me with original WD1600BEVS bin file, or other 160GB bin file which will work with my drive.

Thanks

I have the problem that the drive remains unflashed after power off power on in 10 seconds even though HDDHackr confirmes the flash before power off. Is there any way to solve this? I have searched but not found any solution. I have tried with both VIA, nForce4 and Intel ICH9 and ICH10, same thing. The drive is a 250GB BEVT and I'm using a 120GB BIN-file.

EDIT:

I found a solution. Using 0.91B with manual editing of the SATA-ports with HEX Editor (read the readme.txt for 0.91B) worked, even with my BEVT drive. I guess it should work with the full list:

* Confirmed HddHacker supports
  - WD Scorpio         Series BEVS/BEAS
  - WD Scorpio Blue  Series BEVS/BEVT
  - WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT
  - WD VelociRaptor  Series

v1.11 does not seem to work properly, atleast with my hardware (VIA VT8251, Intel ICH9 and ICH10, nForce4 with Scorpio Blue 250GB BEVT).

Success story with WD 350GB BJKT using hddhackr 1.11

I used a WD 350GB BJKT drive ( if I didn't flash I was going to use it in my laptop which needs its 250GB replaced) and if it did I'd be ready for the 250GB and it'd still be a viable HDD if anything went pear shaped.

~ Before my original 120GB HDD died I made 2 backups of it:
   1. xboxbackup.bin backup of the whole thing + HDDSS.bin backup - using xplorer360 extreme (not extreme2)
   2. Manual extraction of partition 3 (only Content > 0000000000000000 folder + E000020FFA6619FB folder)

To remake my 120GB I used HDDHackr 1.11 + xplorer360 Extreme2.

Initially in 5 different machines (2 with on board sata / 3 without - using rocket raid card) failed to either detect  the drive using hddhackr1.11 or said it was flashed but no matter what made no change to the firmware.

Ended up getting it to detect + flash properly on an old HP Compaq Presario w/ nvidia sata chipset.

Flashed using hddhackr 1.11 -as soon as it confirmed the flash and requested a restart I took the power cable out of the hdd and turned the pc off. Left hdd unplugged for 10 mins (had to do something else) came back, connected the hdd , powered the system on and vola@!

120 fujitsu hdd !!

Xplorer360 Extreme2 found all three partitions but part 2 was empty.

Formated hdd in 360 could do most things but downloading games/demos/patches would halt on 1%.

Had Xlporer360 Extreme2 restore my old xboxbackup.bin file onto the HDD.

Froze @ 6 bars for 2-3 hours.

End tasked xplorer put hdd in xbox and all was well - could now download but old data was corrupted !!

Manually injected part 3 from a previous extraction backup (not a hddss.bin back  up). - this took some time

Plugged the drive back into my xbox.

Recovered my profile and vola, all games saves were intact aswell as SOME previously downloaded games from old HDD.

So there you go, hddhackr isn't so bad after all !

Not sure dude I only briefly saw it as I was flashing the hdd / other things  - was @ a clients site rebuilding a fleet of machines.

Clients pc was a HP Compaq presario and the chip had 'nvidia' on it ... I can take a better look in the next few days, at the time I was just pumped it worked !

But alas.... now I am having an issue where the xbox see's only 60GB free out of 107GB.....

Also I can't seem to download a certain update (I thought it was fine but my memory card had the update, hence it working initially).

Can download games / map packs etc but this ruddy update... also the size issue.

I vaguely remember other people mentioning this but I can't seem to find it.

I'm new here, lots of good info Smiley  Thanks to MODFREAKz for the hard work and everyone else for posting their experiences!

I just snagged a WD1600BEVT off NewEgg, since it's listed as supported by 1.11.  I'm using my on-chip SATA controller on an AMD SB-700 board.

I read the entirety of this and few other threads, and here's what I did:
  • Made a bootable USB drive (Win98 boot image)
  • Copied hddhackr & hddss.bin to root of USB drive
  • Unplugged all SATA drives, plugged in only WD drive
  • HDDHackr 1.11 detected the drive (in Legacy) right away, chose flash option
  • 1.11 flashed sector 16 & partitions, but ended with a "Couldn't write firmware!" error.
  • Tried to restore the undo file, but got the same "Couldn't write firmware!" error.
  • HDDHackr 0.91b detected the drive (!), chose to flash
  • 0.91b flash showed some progress, but ended with an "EC file mismatch" error (or something, didn't write it down)
  • Tried a restore, same "unable to write" error
  • Tried to flash HDDHackr 1.11 one more time, and got a "Bad/Wrong Modelnumber offset!" error
  • Reset the system back to original config, did some research in windows, went back to DOS
  • Drive is now not recognized by anything, not even during post or bios settings.  Cry

I tried to force a restore using 1.11 on the port the drive was detected on before, but no dice. Just a "Can't send vendor specific flash intro to HDD!" error.

I switched between 1.11 & 0.91 and back without rebooting... could this have screwed it over? And should 0.91b even have detected the drive at all, since it's not a BEVS?

Thanks, Ben

Do you mean the WD3200BJKT ? There is no 350GB model, only 320GB. Is it 7200rpm?

Were you able to use hddhackr without any errors?? That's surprising since most people have LBA or other errors.

Success story with WD 350GB BJKT using hddhackr 1.11

I haven't seen this problem yet, so here goes...

I have a wd1200bevs and was able to get through the flashing process using v1.11 with no errors.  I tried to run it through the process again to check that it worked, and the program will actually flash the drive again. (Same thing happened using v.91; no confirmation of XBOX compatibility) I decided to try it in the XBOX, but the memory screen reads "No Storage Device Found."

Solutions?

I had the same problem with flashing a WD3200BEVT. My solution was the following:

First use "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool" to make a bootable DOS USB stick. Then use HDDHackr v1.11 Build 20090701 to flash the hard drive in auto mode (Typing HddHackr at a DOS prompt will start auto mode.) using the desired HDDSS.BIN. Follow the onscreen instructions. It will also create partitions 0/2/3. When everything goes ok it will say to turn the PC off and turn it on after 10 seconds. Turn the PC back on but now use HDDHackr v0.91 with command "hddhackr -f" it will flash the drive again using the same HDDSS.BIN. When it's done turn the PC off and on after waiting another 10 seconds. Use the command "hddhackr -f" again to check if the drive is ready to use with the Xbox 360. Now you can format the drive on the Xbox 360 and the hard drive is ready for use.

does hddhackr v1.11 work well? I've seen not so many people report success stories here, mostly issues..

Has anyone had success with the WD2500BEVT (WD Scorpio Blue)?

No success with 1.11 but it worked with 0.91B
Just had to change the ports, 360 running WD2500BEVT perfectly

HddHackr v1.20 is out. (see first post)

Problems with Intel and VIA chipsets are fixed now! (Thanks to Schtrom)
Also we add support for 80GB and 250GB HDDs, correct HDDSS.BIN is required

People with misflashed hard drives should try out the following:

* Vendor Intro Power Brute for misflashed drives *
To enter the recovery mode you should boot to MS-DOS, connect your hard drive to PC and type
'HDDHACKR R [PORT] A0 UNDO.BIN'. If the hard drive is misflashed you will be prompted with:
"Western Digital Vendor Intro failed on port [PORT]"
"Do you want to resend the command until the drive responds (Y/N)?"
Press YES, disconnect the hard drive from power and connect it again.
You should get Status 0x50 and the drive will be reflashed.
