incorrect i have used a donor undo.bin to reverse a hddhackr formatted drive to stock.

needs to be from the exact same model of drive tho, any other will not work.

Hello...I bought a 320gb WD Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT-08PVM manufactured in March 2012 and tried to flash it using the guide put together by InsaneNutter on another forum. It made through until I got a message saying "Sectors 16-22 rewritten successfully!" in green and then "Bad/Wrong serial number offset" in red. I tried a google search for this and couldn't find anything so I figured I'd restore it back using the UNDO.BIN that had been created. I did this and got the restore completed message and to wait 10 seconds and shutdown. I waited for a bit, shutdown, and tried to start again from the beginning. When booting I noticed that now the HDD showed up as a blank listing in bios. I went back into hddhackr and tried to restore again and got "Can't write firmware to drive! DRQ Error: 0x0816." So I tried to flash it again to see what would happen and got 0x0802. I'm hoping the HDD is not a brick at this point. Could the initial error be caused from the fact that the HDD was manufactured in 2012? Just curious if I tried it again with a new drive if I'd experience the same results due to the man. date. Also with the restore, did I do something incorrectly that would have caused it to fail? Thanks for any help with this.

You don't restore your drive, you flash another drive data to yours, essentially cloning the other drive. While that works, you don't actually restore your drive to its original state. Im not sure what hddhackr backs up, but if its the firmware - every hdd firmware is unique to its drive, based on the plates, P/Q lists etc.

"Warning: LBA Size seems to be an unsupported XBOX360 value. Please contact the Authors!"

HELP! What do I do? I'm using a WD3200BEKT Scorpio Black made in March 2012. Do I continue with the flash?

I had the same warning with the same model drive and manufacture date. From what I read, or at least the way I understood it, was that it's just a warning and you should "ignore" it. To be fair though, I've only tried this once and it was a failure for me Smiley

On another note, after I skipped the LBA warning I got the "Bad/Wrong Serial Number Offset" and it went to hell from there (details in my post above). I'd be curious to see how it turns out for you. Nothing I tried worked to restore or re-flash after the error, so I had to RMA the drive for a replacement. I should get it in the next day or two and I'll try again, but if you would please post back with your results if you choose to continue I'd appreciate it.

Update:

I received my new WD3200BEKT drive today. I got the LBA warning again but ignored it and I was able to flash the drive using v1.25. I also restored Partition 2 using Hoffman's guide and bin file with Xplorer360 Extreme. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit with an EVGA 750i Sli FTW motherboard for reference.

correct you simply restore the drive specific information overwritten by hddhackr

it does restore the drive to the original state albeit with a different serial number, does it really matter as long as it works in a PC/MAC?

My hard drive is WD16000HFLS.

Any suggestion what to do…,btw I keep processing with the set up and when I install the drive back to my xbox360 non slim the console ask me to format it in order to use it,

•   Intel GM965 Express Chipset
•   4GB Ram
•   Seagate Momentum 160GB

Drive to be flashed

•   Western Digital Scorpio Blue 320GB {WD3200BPTV, Date 14 May 2012}

Hi, I am having issues trying to get my 160Gb WD Scorpio Black WD1600BEKT DATE:23-APR-10 HD to work.
first of all, i have no other option but FAT32 in Bootable USB Creator Tool so I formatted it FAT32, copied HDDHackr and the 120Gb bin file to the drive, then i removed my main HD from my Dell E6410 laptop, changed from RAID to SATA in BIOS, then booted to the USB drive. Boots fine, got the prompt, typed HDDHackr and it said no ATA devices.

same happened if i left my main HD drive in, booted windows, cmdpromt as administrator and tried it right off the USB drive. could see my main HDD but nothing else.

am i doing something wrong?

Are you using the hard drive to load hddhackr from? If so this won't work as the hard drive will need to b free so hddhackr can partition it and install hddss.bin. Try setting the sata mode to IDE mode and try using a USB pen with the files on it and try again.

Hi I have wd3200bpvt manufacturing data July 2012. did try hddhackr 1.30 and 1.25 and both giving "Warning LBA size seems to be an unsupported XBOX 360 value Please contact the author.Check DRQ -Error !
Reading HDD sector 16 failed!"
Then I Format in window 7 and try hddhackr again in auto and manual mode with no luck. Also Try hex workshop through workshop method all went fine but no changes to Hard Disk. I am using acer T180 desktop. and HARD DRIVE directly connected to SATA master port. I go through BIOS setting and there is not such AHCI, LegacyIDE setting. Also try acer laptop with AHCI disable on laptop both version of hddhackr freezes.
what other options I can try except returning HD to Tiger Diect  .
Thanks in advance.
