Thanks for your help.

I know this may be a bit off topic but I wanted to ask the experienced: While trying to decide on which of the supported 250GB WD HDD to buy, after some research, it is my understanding that there is not much of an improvement in performance when it comes to choosing between a 5400 rpm and a 7200 rpm HDD; but what about Cache? Is there an improvement between 8MB, 16MB and 32MB?

I am trying to decide between the following two models which are both selling around the same price ($45):

250GB WD Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT (5400 rpm, 8MB)
or the newer:
250GB WD AV-25 WD2500BUDT (5400 rpm, 32MB)

Can someone enlighten me?! Thanks!

I feel like I've had unnecessary trouble doing this...

I bought a WD2500bevt made nov 2010 (before this I tried a 320gig)

In Auto can get hddhackr to see what port it is in and after answering all the y/n and entering in the file names hddhackr jumps to saying

0x50 - Error!
WD vendor intro failed on port...
...would you like to resend..
0x51
...select y/n

I've been searching for hours to find out why this is happening with no answer. I also hear mixed results of newer drives working but none this this problem.

Also when manually entering in the prompts I can get the drive to partition just fine.

Any help would very appreciated. Thanks!

I had 2 WD2500BEVT drives that I wanted to flash to use with my XBox. The first (manufactured in July of 2009) seemed to work, but the second (manufactured in september of 2009) kept giving me the E68 error. So I tried to flash the undo.bin of the first to the second and I now seemingly have a bricked hard drive. Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

I am also having trouble with a WD2500BEVT from Nov 2010.

Do you think this is a hddhackr version problem???

Check DRQ - Error!
Reading  HDD sector 16 failed!

Thx

You are not supposed to read the data from the drive you want to flash.

Hi,
I have this same problem with hdd manufactured on 29 NOV 2010 (WD2500BEVT-22A23T0).
I start with bootable pendrive and when I try to flash (after I type "undo.bin"), I'm getting error:

Check DRQ - Error!
Reading  HDD sector 16 failed!

I tried earlier on the same computer with older one (manufactured OCT 2010) and everything went smooth.

Could somebody help?

Mine is manufactured on 18 NOV 2010. Probably we should wait for hddhackr 1.26!?

Hi,

I searched for this and couldn't find it, so I figured I would pass this on.  I had a 250Gb WD BMVS drive out of a  My Essentials enclosure and decided to try this out.
Using hddhackr 1.22 and a Via 6421 SATA card and booting from the iPrep USB image, it works flawlessly in the new Slim 4Gb Kinect.  I put the drive in before the
first power on of the 360 and after all the initial setup crap was finished, I went in to the sytem info tab and there it was, with 228GB free, didn't even have to format
it.

So, for anyone looking to do this who happens to have a 250GB my essentials laying around with a BMVS drive in it.  It works.  I have done 2 now with this drive and
both work perfectly.  Thank you for the tutorial.   Grin

EDIT:  Both drives were Manufactured in Oct 08.

I have a 2500BEKT and I am getting this error:

"Check DRQ -  Error!
Writing HDD sectors failed!"

The drive was manufactured on 15 Nov 2010. I am using a VIA 6421 SATA card as well.

Edit: I fixed it by formatting the HDD and not partitioning it or setting a filesystem. Either that or one of my SATA card's ports doesn't work.

Just today, I bought a WD2500BEVT manufactured on (Nov 15, 2010) and had no problems. Used HDDHackr v1.25 and everything went smooth! Put it on my Xbox Slim and the drive was recognized. Just my two cents.

I have WD2500BEVT manufactured on 27 Nov 2010.  I get the Bad/Wrong Modelnumber offset! error after the three partitions are created. Using HDDHackr v1.25 and followed instructions to the T.  I can send you my Undo.bin file as well if that'd help at all.  Thanks for your help!
