your 120 GB drive is not running a fujitsu firmware, it is merely reporting as one. it still runs the WD firmware. You can usually disable things like APM in the manufacturers software, check WDs website.

Its only possible with Software under Windows/Mac/Linux to deactivate APM, but after a pc restart the old APM value returns !!!!
I searched many time for a hardware solution for the jtag box without success...

Is there a possible method to hack a "Fujitsu MHW2120BH" HDD to recognized by the XBOX360 (I have used it in a PC for many years)? As I know, this is the type of the original 120GB MS HDD.
Thanx in advance

Did you try just plugging it in? Otherwise just try to flash it with a 120gb bin file. If  this drive is indeed used in the original MS drives, you just might have a small chance.

Yes, I have tried it.
Well, I have been using this HDD for many years in my notebook, but recently i have upgraded storage & I do not want to waste this 120GB HDD. So I formatted & repartitioned - now it is like a new one from factory. After that I connected it to my XBOX360 but it has not been recognized ("No storage found" - or similar).
I have another WD BEVS series HDD that I 'modified' earlier (with the help of HDDHACKER &  120GB bin file) & it has succeeded.
It is not possible modify the Fujitsu HDD because the HDDHACKER says it is not a WD HDD & do not do the modifying.

It should be good to know what is the difference to an original XBOX360 Fujitsu HDD.

I found this page but it does not help too much:
http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Hard_Drive_Upgrade
Any idea? Huh

hddhackr can only READ the hdss.bin from a stock drive, it cannot write the hdss.bin to it

hence your error

you could try patching the file in with a hex editor, but the drive would prob need to be in FAT32 or FATX to recognise in the 360.

once the hdss.bin is in the correct location you *should* be able to format it in the xbox.

A retail xbox will only recognize a hard drive with properly encypted/signed info in its hddss that ALSO matches the model/serial/firmware version of the drive as reported by the drive itself.  HHDHackr makes WD drives report as if they ARE the drive described in the properly signed hddss that you provide, and also places that hddss info on the drive.  (Hexediting only affects the second part.) HDDHackr only works with WD drives because commands to do this on other brands are different.  You cannot just hexedit hddss info (to match your drive) because the signature will be broken, and to date (and probably for as long as anyone will still care) only MSoft can create the signature.  This is why you must always keep a back up of the hddss.bin for your drive.  If you had the exact hddss (not from same model, etc., because serial number won't match) from YOUR drive, you could hexedit it back onto the drive, (again, only the one from the drive in your hand, and no one could have it but you) it would probably work again once partitioned/formatted.  Expensive hardware/software combos exist that might allow you to go the other way and change the info reported by the drive to match a given hddss, but, you could buy more legit xbox hard drives or twice as many WD drives to use with HDDHackr, than you'd ever need, for way less money.

Could you please confirm that HDDHackr v1.22 works with recent western digital scorpio blue drives (notably 2010 manufactured ones BEVT and BPVT)?

(I mean the first page only says for v1.22:Added support for the Western Digital Scorpio Series manufactured 2009 and for v1.00:Confirmed HddHacker supports
  - WD Scorpio        Series BEVS/BEAS
  - WD Scorpio Blue  Series BEVS/BEVT
  - WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT
  - WD VelociRaptor  Series)

Thanks!

Here is a very small update, which I should have done a long time ago. I just was too lazy.

(HDDHackr v1.24)
* Fixed issue with LBA 28/48-bit address comparison
* Confirmed HddHacker supports hard drives manufactured 2010
  - WD Scorpio Blue  Series BPVT
  - WD AV-25          Series BUDT

FAQ
-----
Q. I heard lot of people having problems with the new 2010 models. Does it matter wich moddel I have?
A. The 2010 drive are the same, lots of people have hacked them perfectly. 99% of problems appear to be SATA chipset or BIOS configuration.

I used a very recent BEKT (scorpio black) of june of 2010 or so. This worked as it should. So I wouldnt expect problems with a 2010 BEVT as well.

I just flashed a 3200BEKT which "flashed successfully" according to the prompt, but it won't show up in my system.  I did a 2500BEKT last week and it worked just fine.

The drive was built in July 2010 if that matters.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I ran into a problem and could use some help please.

I have a 360 Arcade with no hard drive. I bought a hard drive enclosure (so no hard drive in it, just the enclosure). I bought a 2500BEVT and got a 250 hddss.bin and flashed it using HDDHackr 1.24. All went fine.
But when I add it to the Xbox it doesn't see it at all.

I assume it IS possible to add a HDD to an Arcade even if it doesn't come with one?
Do I need to do the hex editing adding the serial number from my Xbox? Please link to a guide if you know of a good one for a beginner.

I tried v1.24 in a WD BEVT 500 Gb manufactured in Aug-2010.

Enter the number of an ATA drive:
"

And I dont know what to do now. Can you help me?

Before this message in the same DOS screen, I read:

"
0x01FO IDE Pri Master None
0x0170 IDE Sec Master
Check DRQ -Error !
No ATA identify possible
0x0170 IDE Sec Slave
Check DRQ -Error!
No ATA identify possible

Hello,

My Motherboard is a Asus P5N-E SLI and I'm using onboard SATA.

I'm new here, I've tried flashing my WD2500BEKT of MAY 2010 with HDDHACKR v1.24 BUILD 20100904 and I've got a error first, CHECK DRQ ERROR.

This moment HD continued working (I've rebooted and it was showing up on BIOS) so I've tried another time. This time no error happened, but the HDD stopped working (it reports a blank name, and delays boot time on about 10 seconds), and on HDDHACKR it shows:

Serial Number:
Total Number Of User Addressable Sectors 28-bit: 0
Total Number Of User Addressable Sectors 48-bit: 0

So I've tried to restore firmware with UNDO.BIN that I have generated, and is reporting OK:
Data from undo.bin file
--------------------------------------------------
Manufacturer:   <WD2500BEKT-00A25T0>
Serial Number: <WD-WXA*********> (hidden because i will try RMA if i can't recover it)
Firmware Revision: <01.01A01>

So I get:

Check Status 0x50 - Error.

I try the resend command and power cycling HDD (removing power cable and putting back), and it only cycles between Status 0x10 (Default), Status 0x90 (Power off), Status 0x80 (About 4 seconds, and 2 little noises on disk), Status 0x01 (almost 0.1 seconds) and then back to 0x10.

I've already tried using MHDD to reset the HPA but don't succedded too.

Any other tip?

Thanks!

the xbx dont recognize the disk.. i mean after all, i go to the memory menu and nothing, no disk
My motherboard is Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

Disk

Bios Options

---------------------------

First i use the hddhackr and works perfectly, like in the tutorial, work perfect
after that, turn off, wait 10 second and turn on and turn off to remove the disk
Then i put the disk as slave because (using a sata cable and a sata power connector) so i try use that program "Xplorer360 Extreme" for restore the partition2 of Xbox 1 Emulation
So when the computer go in windows, i see a pop up message "installing divice drivers" i dont know if that drivers was installed in the main hard disk (my main computer disk) or in the hacked 250gb drive, also the drive dont appear in "my computer"
So i open that program fallow the tutorial and it let me restore the partition 2 (i download it from other forum).. so the program can detect the drive and windows not? and it take a few seconds.. then i shutdown the computer, remove the disk and put in the xbox and the problem begin.. there is no hard disk in the memory menu, but i feel the disk working, i mean i touch it and is On

-----------

After read a little i restore the firmware using the Undo.bin backup, i DONT know if this remove the previous partition 2
and i supose the hard disk is as the start

And hddhacrk again..
when i use the hddhackr, all work perfect, exactly like this picture

then i turn off the computer, wait 10 second, turn ON, wait a little... shutdown again and remove the disk
i shutdown the computer with the power button, because there is no command in hddhackr to shutdown the computer..

then i connect the hard drive to the xbox360, go to the memory menu, and nothing, no hard drive

Maybe is problem of the hddss.bin, because is from 2009, and the actual drive are 2010

----------------------

EDIT: Solved
My Motherboard ICHR10 Chipset create a security sector modifing the original LBA of the Hacked Drive
This happend when u turn on the computer for second time, ex:
Turn On for use the hddhacker, then it ask you turn off the computer, wait 10 second and turn on again (second time)
So during the POST of the second turn on, it create the security sector and u get owned XD
Solution, when it ask you turn off the computer, do it and remove the the hard disk... dont wait 10 second and turn on

also i nothce this happend in the ICHR9

So

Devastador : Thanks a LOT for the solution. Same problem here with a Scorpio Blue 250GB and a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L (ICH10).

Just to make things clear :
  • Connect the drive
  • Hack it with HDDHACKR
  • At "Turn Off Computer" prompt, turn it OFF (don't reset)
  • DISCONNECT THE HACKED DRIVE
  • Test the drive in the 360. It should work fine

All kudos to Devastador

Today I bought WD2500BEVT (Blue Series) as below

Production date: 15 OCT 2010

In HDDHackr - same LBA size

Unfortunately on HDDHackr v1.24  Build 20100904 I have "Bad/Wrong Modelnumber offset!" info

I'll try with VIA VT8237R/VT8251 and with build-in Intel P45/ICH10R chipset... no success Sad
So any sugestion? What to do?

Try with other HDSS.bin (xbins is your friend). I've hacked exactly your same drive with a ICH10 chipset ( noticed that yours is ICHR10, so you can try disabling RAID capabilities also)

Hope you can find it useful.

Do you have the same production date (or similar) as main - 15 OCT 2010?
I'll try with HDDSS.BIN from xbin's and from other forum's. I think there is only one version of 250 HDDSS.BIN.
Even with 120GB SS.BIN I have "Bad/Wrong..."
