Newb here. I tried looking through the replies, but haven't found anything to help, though I did see a few people with similar problems.
I attempted to create a 250GB drive with a WD Scorpio Blue drive, information on the sticker is as follows: 250GB WD25000BEVT S/N: <don't think that matters>
MDL: 2500BEVT - 00A23T0 WWN: <What's this, anyway?> DATE: 23 Nov 2010
Do you need DCM, LBA, etc? Will that help?
Flashed HDDSS_250GB.bin (HDDSS_~1.bin in DOS) onto it successfully, according to hddhackr v1.25, but trying it in the 360 resulted in an E68. Tested with a legit 360 drive and it worked, so I didn't break my xbox. I tried to undo and reflash, but I couldn't. Unable to write to sector 16, blah blah blah. Tried a Vendor Intro Power Brute because looking at other posts and questions, that seemed the best option, but I was unable to get it to hit status 0x50. Like a previous user posted, it would power on to 0x80, then blink to what appears to be 0x01, then back to 0x10. Is there any fix for this?
I can provide my undo.bin if that will help somehow. Thanks in advance!

Hoping someone can help me out here. Just flashed a WD2500BEVT Manufacture Date 11/28/2010. The first 3 attempts i kept getting a Check DRQ - Error! near the end of the process with another message saying it was unable to write the UNDO.BIN to USB device. It did say it was able to write the sectors successfully and create the 0/2/3 partition each time. But i didnt get the Firmware Flashed Successfully until my 4th attempt. It did create the UNDO.BIN file on my USB drive after the 4th attempt. Now after shutting down and inserting the drive into my Xbox 360 Slim, the drive is not showing under Storage Devices. I have tried reinserting it a few times to make sure its connected correctly and i am using one of those plastic shells from Deal Extreme. I followed the instructions from http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xbox-360-guides/3152-xbox-360-how-hack-250gb-sata-drive-work-xbox-360-xbox-360-slim.htmlI havent tried flashing it back to the original firmware. I was considering flashing it back and then trying the whole process again on a different computer. Is it possible that i might just have a drive that isnt supported? Edit: Well i ended up restoring the original firmware successfully. I then tried flashing it again, but this time i moved the USB thumb drive to a rear USB port on the same computer i first tried this on. Initially i had it plugged into one of the front ports. So its possible its now on a different USB controller and maybe that had something to do with it. This time when i reflashed it, it flashed successfully on the first try and it was detected by my Xbox Slim. So it looks like that some of the newer WD2500BEVT HD's are capable of being flashed with the modified firmware. Thanks to all for their hard work!

You are not supposed to read the data from the drive you want to flash.

I have new HDDHACKR version, which is almost ready (based on latest DOSFLASH16 improvements)
- SATA and IDE port scan improved - PATA and SATA controllers list updated - Automatic Device Reset - Code optimization to work with modern SATA2 controllers added - and more
So i need some volunteers with flashing problems. PM me.

I'm having trouble getting a WD Scorpio Blue (WD2500BEVT) to flash properly. According to the drive sticker, it was manufactured on Jan 9th, 2011. LBAs match etc. I've tried the suggestions I've seen here to no effect.
I'm using HDDHackr 1.25, but every time I go to flash the drive I get two errors:
Check DRQ - Error Reading hdd sector 16 failed
I don't even get to the point where you confirm whether you want to proceed with flashing.
Is this an issue with the drive being new?

That starts boring me! Why the hell people ask the same questions every few months?
We live in year 20xx and not in 199x !!!!
So please people, inform yourself before you write here in tech topic.

Have WD Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT - 00A23T0 Date 21 JAN 2011 Installed in laptop and started DOS with USB key v 1.25 just moves cursor on one line then nothing happens and nothing else can be done without switching off the laptop. Have tried with and without paramenters, manual and auto. v 1.24 runs and produces an UNDO.BIN file among other things but then complains that something is not the length expected. No change made to the HDD which can still be seen by Windows in an external USB case.
Have used earlier version, v 1.2 to flash a WD120 drive so chip set perhaps not the problem?
Have downloaded v 1.25 and unzipped again with same result.
HELP!!

Nice idea! Every lead I've found so far brings me back here! Would you care to tell me where I can find the authors to get in touch? I got the impression that you are one of them.

I've been wondering, that since MS says that they'll ban HD mods, could I get the key from the original HDD of my friend who doesn't use Live, and plant it on my future 120GB WD?

HDdhackr is a great tool. Nice job putting it together.
I am trying to use your program to do something silly. My 80 gb HD seems to be dying and it causes the xbox to hang. Rather than buy a disk (im poor) I have an extra 3.5inch WD 640gb. I know it wont fit in the xbox (will leave it hanging out like a tumor) and I know that if can flash the XBOX 80gb bios on the 3.5inch 640 gb that i will still only get 80gb of usable space, but i want to try anyway. Trouble is when I try to load the 80gb xbox bios to the 640gb it fails the checksum in sector 16 (as expected). Are there any switches, or commands that you did not publish that will allow me to bypass the fail safe and go for it. I fully understand that there is a very good chance that i will destroy the 640gb hd. The drive I have on hand is a Western Digital Caviar Blue WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb

Does anyone know if the new "Advanced Format" 4K drives from Western Digital will work? Such as the W3200BPVT.
Do I need to use WDalign before hooking it up to HDDHackr? Or is there some other special steps to follow.
