edit nvm I found one. just curious tho, if I have to use a hddss.bin from a 120, which makes sense, why do I need to dump the sectors on the 20gb?
You don't have to dump the 20gb, it's usually a test to see if the computer is up to the task. If it can dump, it can usually write. If it cant, your tasking a risk with flashing the new drive.

gotcha thanks damox. I was follwoing the instructions to the letter since thisis my first time flashing a drive. I didn't wanna screw it up. I did think it was strange to myself when it asked about the drives not matching and the lba sizes being way different. BUt i just continued on like the instructions said.
but im a newb. but I know now. Thanks again!

I'm having a lot of trouble trying to modify a WD2500BEVT drive , manufacted the 29th of September , 2009 . When I connect the HD to the pc and start the hddhackr command, the program says NO ATA IDENTIFY POSSIBLE , while when I start up Windows Xp (keeping the WD device connected) , during the system loading screen it locks. Is the device broken ? Or it's the chipset's fault?
Please help me Shocked

I am experiencing the same problem, Hotenko. I am using an amd athlon chipset. I double checked the drive to make sure it wasn't completely dead, my windows installer detected it fine, but hddhackr won't detect it.

I didn't get any feedback last time so I thought I would try this again. Here is my issue:
My 120G drive was working fine in my 360 but when I tried to copy my son’s info from his 20G drive I ended up copying the partition. After that the 360 would recognize it anymore. I thought I would just rezap the firmware and reformat the drive on the 360 but I accidently put the firmware for my son’s 20G drive into my 120G drive. Now I can’t get it to work worth a darn. When I try to restore the firmware it tells me the file size doesn’t match. If I try to flash it it errors out because it can’t read the drive to create and Undo.bat. Is there a way to force the drive to accept the flash without doing the data file size check?

I played with it somemore and I really think it would work if there was a way to bypass the creation of the undo.bin file. Is there a way to make it skip the undo and to just flash the drive without checking the file size?

Just a quick one with regard to the changes that have been put into place since the last update that introduced sky player etc. Does a modified hddhackr drive not get detected as "unauthorised storage" like with the datel expansion cards?
Is there a thread kicking around with a list of tried and tested drives too?

Update: I tried the so called “Brute Force” method but this had little affect as it still gave me the message that the files size doesn’t match. Well I know it don’t match, I flashed the wrong file in it, that is why I am trying to flash it again… Anyway, if anyone knows of a command switch or something that will help me bypass this I would sure appreciate the help.

This worked perfectly with my 2009 BEVT Blue Scorpio once I got the correct firmware image. The first one I downloaded said it was for a 120 Gb drive but it was actually for a 250. I found this list of hard drives from a previous post very useful. Thank you to the original poster...! List of HDDs used by MS: 20Gb FUJITSU MHV2020BH 60Gb FUJITSU MHY2060BH 120Gb FUJITSU MHW2120BH 250Gb Hitachi HTS545025B9SA00
HDDSS.BIN structure ------------------- Offset Length (bytes) Description 0x000 20 HDD Serial number (can begin/end padded with spaces) 0x020 8 HDD firmware revision (can begin/end padded with spaces) 0x028 40 HDD manufacturer and model number (can begin/end padded with spaces) 0x044 20 SHA-1 (160 bit) of MS logo data at offsets 0x200-0xE00 0x058 4 LBA Sector Size in big-endian format. Known values: 20GB 0x80295402 = 39.070.080, 60GB 0x807CFC06 = 117.210.240, 120GB 0xB04BF90D = 234.441.648, 250GB 0x70591C1D = 488.397.168 0x05C 256 Digital signature (this would be an encrypted digest over the first 92 bytes of hddss.bin with MS private key Huh) 0x15C 164 Zero bytes 0x200 4 0x00000AC2 - Size of the following MS logo in PNG format 0x204 2754 MS logo in PNG format, made with Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 on the 19th of July 2005
Notice the incorrect LBA size and make/model below. Compare to the correct Fuji drive of comparable size.

hi people, i could not dump my new wd3200bevt. got an error ( Sector Checksum <0000> Is Wrong ). should i continue the flash? if i do, how am i going to re-flash my 320gb to be used as a normal hdd without the undo.bin? please advice. thank you.
ps :- hi all. just to update what i have done. i just went ahead and mod my hdd. in the auto mode, it created an 'UNDO.BIN' file for me to restore my hdd if i decide to revert it back to the original state. so it actually dump a copy of the original FW. it is working correctly now. thanks for viewing. cheers.

Trying to flash a 250gb WD bev HD with my Dell D830 Laptop and having some issues with version 1.22 of HDDHackr.(Hangs in auto mode) I believe it is because it cant find the port my sata controller resides on. I sucessfully flashed a 120 gb hard drive with the same laptop but I was using version .91b. With .91b I was able to open the .com in a hex editor and change the port to match that of my dell: 6EB0 6EC0 That does not appear to be an option with the executable version of HDDhckr. Yes, it allows you to specify a port as an argument in manual mode but you can only specify a 4 character port. The port I pulled for the previous version is 8 characters. I've tried the following commands and all hang with a blinking cursor: hddhackr hddhackr -f hddhackr D 6EB0 A0 UNDO.bin hddhackr D 6EC0 A0 UNDO.bin hddhackr D 6EB0 6EC0 A0 UNDO.bin hddhackr D B0C0 A0 UNDO.bin Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just flashed a WD Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVSRTL1.
It was purchased at Best Buy for 69.99
It took me most of the night but I figured it out.
What I did was partition the drive first and then flash it.
Put it in my XBOX 360 and was all set ready to play.
Thanks for all the programs and files to make this possible.
Cheapest HD upgrade ever!

Thank you all. I have a WD HDD compatible (believe that) WD1600BEVT ( is 160gb, but, i want used 120gb ). The first time I used it all works perfect hddhackr. But other times he says "bad / wrong modelnumber offset ... and do not understand. The file undo.bin I did well the first time .. because then, again will not let me format it for use on Xbox? Here some pictures: http://img96.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=img0021x.jpg
