1st I like to say hello to all XBH users
It seems i have same results on VIA VM800 based mobo .I don't know why but it simply don't work. In manual (parameters via command line) mode seems hang after doing backup ,but in automatic mode show me exactly same error .Somehow it change LBA numbers so even in v0.91 will have the same error...

The cure for it is just restore the drive to previous state in v0.91 and never use v1.00 again like i did...

Just found answer about LBA problem on other forum (polish language) .User seems fix this by using HDAT2 (U can find it on HirenBootCD) and remove HPA (HOST PROTECTED AREA) on disk.
procedure :
In HDAT2 choose your drive > set max (hpa) menu > set max addres ,then press S , Y and other (any) key to go back from menu. Again choose your drive > device configuration overlay menu > modify > host protected area (hpa) ,change it from 'dont change' to 'remove' press S , Y and ESC to go back to DOS ,and shutdown computer. If u have problems to change HPA permanently  try disconnect drive from power for few seconds before whole procedure.
Hope this will help to restore proper LBA size to 234441648 for 120gb drive
This method is untested by me so please make comment if this work for HDDHacker v1.00 main BUG
rgds to guy from polish forum...

btw. wonder about try replace sectors manually and use 0.5 version on BEKT drive

Hey nicefile, thanks for the info; I'm still having problems tho, I've been changing settings with HDAT2 before seeing your post without any luck on making the 360 detect the drive.

I first tried hddhackr 1.0 with the 120GB hddss.bin and the result was: LBA size does not match... after lot of research and thinking (yes I've got a brain) I did/tried the following:

I've been able to do/change the following succefully:
  • changed LBA size from 312,581,808 (160.04gb) to 234,441,648 (120.04gb) on 48-bit LBA mode.
  • changed LBA-bit from 48-bit to 28-bit.
  • changed HPA from enabled to none (removed).
Result: 360 won't recognize the HDD.

Info of the HDD:
WD1600BEVT-75ZCT
FIRMWARE: 11.0
LBA size it came with: 312,579,695 (48-bit)
Restored full LBA: 312,581,808 (48-bit)

Any help regarding the LBA size does not match... error, post here or PM me.

Peace.

PS: Nicefile, could PM me or post the website where you saw this information I could probably digg some more info on this subject.

please dont scorch me for posting this info multiple times but ive been up for over a day and working on this for about 20 hrs.

ok i have had the HARDEST time with this and ive been pretty good flashing to ixtreme, etc, and i work in the IT industry, but this is KILLING me.  I have an older tower that was my girlfriends. It is a P4 Dell dimension 2400. I installed a PPA Via VT6421 PCI SATA card into the machine.

first, When I started the machine,WIN XP would not boot if the drive was connected. If i unplug, boot into XP, plug in the drive. I FIEXED THIS BY CHANGING PCI SLOTS

Device manager sees it, and it just says "disk drive" If i boot into dos, / fdisk it sees it but hddhackr 0.91 does not. it only sees the ide hard drive, 1.00 sees it but when i go to flash it says CAN'T OPEN FILE UNDP.BIN FOR BINARY WRITING.  i did the hex edit on 0.91 and it says a sata device was found, then it says CAN NOT WRITE TO DISK.

i am so so frustrated right now, its there, it can be seen.... but thats it.

it was completely offtopic for the simple reason that ONE topic is plenty. and this is neither a technical nor a research question, it's a support question.
what is your hdd formatted to, and is the dos disk writable and not full? it'll attempt to write to whatever disk you started the app from, if it can not, you get those errors.

wow i cant believe i was that stupid, i thought that the undo.bin file was stored on the wd hdd, which is dumb because you format it in the 360 after this.  but its stored on the floppy or thumb drive eh? ive been starting the comp with a 6.22 dos CD because my bios doesnt allow thumb drive boots, and i dont have a floppy. so now whaat? buy a floppy drive? sorry i took an attitude with you, youve been the only one to help me and ive posted on a few boards and wrote a few emails.

you could run it off a fat32 hdd/partition too.

yeah i ended up doing that, and i got past all of the previous error messages. now i have a new one  LBA size does not match.
Ive seen other posts about this, but with no real clear cut answer.  something about adjusting the LBA size which i dont know how to do. something about using 0.91b, but i cant seem to find version 0.91b ANYWHERE.  0.91 doesnt recognize my drive  and 1.00  is the one giving me the LBA size error message.

im so so close, but still not there
