Just bought a new xbox with the liteon drive but cant seem to the the key. this is my second lite on so my rs232 is good. However when i hook everything up and open JF 1.5.1 my drive is detected and comprt shows ready but i get the error !warning seril data is bad! no matter how many times i power cycle the drive. Also in realterm the drive does not give a constant stream of 00's. It only shows 1 00 when i turn the box on and the break button turns red. I tried dosflash and it see the drive but when i go to select the port for  lite on, it gives me the error " no atapi drive present on the port " but the drive is listed.  I even built the homemade rs232 adapte rand have the same problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I'm not fully sure, but the firmware may be bad

Don't think the firmware is bad since the drive plays originals fine. It just doesn't want to transmit data over tx for some reason.

That reminds me, since you are using a RS232/TTL tranciever, did you bridge the points?

OK, using the latest jungleflasher (use DOS I reckon but anyway) with your Lite-On hooked up, turn the drive on (or the console), eject it then press eject again (so it's closing) but right before it closes pull out the power cable to the dvd drive. Set the tray to half way and plug the power to the dvd drive back in, re-click on your port - now re click on your list for com ports (sorry forgot what this is called - should be COM1) so it checks the status and says ready....now do whatever you want to do to connect TX and do the read key, inquiry etc and you should be good Smiley

I had this problem the first time (and last) I used jungleflasher, I had to essentially "refresh" my listed port otherwise it would not dump, and as for erasing and reading, don't ask because I could not do it in Windows  I just DOS it (DVDKey, l-o-erase and Dosflash !!)
