Hi there I was just wondering if anyone could let me know what the state of play is with Linux development for the 360?
I notice free60.org seems to have gone nipples skyward, I still hold out some hope of having a non-crippled xbox at some point in the future!
Are all install techniques still depend on KK vertes shader exploits, or has the process been simplified yet?
All advice much appreciated.

Unfortunately not (as far as im aware)
The only hole lies in early hypervisors 4328 or around there
The only method of exploiting this hole lies in king kong exploit
The only way to downgrade a box to work this exploit works on xenon board with cb < 1921

You got the last point wrong.
It will work on ANY Xenon and Zephyr consoles that have CB version 1920 or prior

ahem - i'm happy to bet my mortgage on the fact you cant, mainly due to the cb in zephyr being 4558 and containing a row2 fuse lockdown verification check - and because i was one of the 1st people to discover e78 and spoke at great length to robinsod about it  |

hmm interesting, what are the section versions and ida snippets as it may not have the row 2 check and if so may allow normal zephyr and falcon to swap

To examine your 1920 zephyr cb and use it on a normal zephyr / falcon depending on why it is a lower version value and what it does / doesnt check - may not do as much fuse revokation checking  |

That's the first I've heard of a kernel downgrade, dependent on the type of MB I assume? I would be actually willing to sacrifice my xbox for a linux media centre if it was realistic. Is there 3d acceleration available?

does anyone know will free60 be coming back?
ever since i booted my xbox with linux the site has been down. i would like to get the latest release on disk which i believe is from their website :/
also as i understand (i may be wrong) - there isnt any sound on 360 running linux?
