Looks like a tutorial on transplanting a DVD key.

Doesn't look like a very good one. They tell you to dump the RAM for no reason and the command they give to flash the modified firmware to the drive won't do anything (just flashes unused sector 0x9003F000!). The memdump commands are also missing the block size argument.

Not sure what the GDR.bin is that they refer to.

Edit: Just downloaded their GDR.bin. It's just a standard 0047 firmware. Nothing exciting I'm afraid.

I think the GDR.bin is something more and hes trying to keep it under wraps so not too many people know about it.

I recommend you stop thinking before you hurt yourself.

I agree with Arakon, seventhson has made many contributions to the scene.  What have you done?  I too looked over the GDR.BIN that they reference and as I expected, seventhson is exactly correct.  What reason would he have to cover it up anyway?  No one is trying to halt the scene.  We are all attempting to advance it, however some people are here to do more than pirate games.  Keep in mind that the goal, at least here at XBH, is to boot homebrew software NOT pirated copies.

Heh.

You got me! But I'd like to see you prove it! It would take some kind of ultimate-super-hacker to download and extract GDR.rar and compare the resulting file to the 0047 firmware downloadable from this site. You'll never unravel my ingenious deception!
