Has anyone tried to backup a 360 game with an original Xbox DVD drive either via QWIX or by directly connecting the drive to a PC? I wonder if it could read the security sectors?

not gonna work, the xbox 1 firmware expects the disks to be in xbox 1 format, so the xbox 1 drives can't unlock a 360 disk.

It can be used to read the security sectors (if you have a LG drive) but not to backup the game.

ACK, i made sure my xbox1 drives were samsung, dont suppose the reading of SS is applicable to that drive?.

yeah, i did as well. why can the lg drive read the security sectors and the samsung cant?

They both can but you can only dump it from RAM with the LG ..

how about the samsung with the xtrm800 firmware ?

that's like saying why don't 360 games play on the xbox 1. the hardware is completely different.
