1st off, im not a noob at flashing. ive flashed over 30 odd liteons and 5 today but this one is being odd.
i did everything the same way i normaly do, read the key and files, make the ix15.bin file in jungleflasher and load it onto my flash drive. boot from usb into dos, erase and flash. problem is, i got to write and it hung on writing bank 0.
ive had a look around for answers, ive checked the dummy.bin file ect, done the l-o-erase 10 times till i got status FF72, even 20 times. still the same result. ive updated my via drivers to 530c, used my other via card to see if it was that, powered it by the 360 and my xtractor, different usb drives.
the files i have are fine, ive had to spoof a benq into it till i resolve this as the guy was coming to collect it. thatt works fine and i was playing cod waw on it so i know the files are good.
what could it be?
thanks chaps

ive updated my via drivers to 530c ,quote, I thought all via drivers had to be disabled or removed and jungleflasher sorts the via card out, thats how my set up works it freezes otherwise on my system anyway,so why dont you try that first , the trouble is what works one week may not work the next week thats the way it goes.

Also, back-up the memory stick and only have dosflash and the lite-on hacked firmware on it...then try (just in the root of the memory stick also) gigabite

...the tray position doesn't matter at all for flashing.

well I always use dos personally, sounds like you do (or have tried it for that matter) - but as for anything else...i'm stumped...provided you haven't changed anything since you have done the previous Lite-On ? You see, if you said you hadn't done one before i'd say well remove all your drives, bios etc etc...but as you have gigabite

jeeeeez???......my last and only thought is bad solder joint somewhere I mean, no idea - put it this way - at least you can re-flash another drive if need be (as in...it's already working with a BenQ and if you really want, you can grab another Lite-On and flash it if you really must). It's one of those strange things you just can't explain gigabite

I had the same problem.. The only thing i had to do was to switch SATA cabel from the port on the back of my via-sata card to 1 of the ports on the card. Now i have port 9000 instead of 9400 and it works like a charm.

Hey guy's, I had this same problem 3 months ago. I just kept trying the flash process for 3 days, tyring every possible combo I could think of and it eventually worked! I thought it was just an odd ball drive but it happened again today 09-09-09 "wired date, right?" I figured it it out though! When it comes to flashing newer Lite_on drives: USE THE SHORTEST SATA CABLE YOU CAN FIND! It makes the difference. I hope this helps anyone who comes across this problem and is lucky enough to find this page. Good luck to all.
