Started off with a weak hd63 laser in my hitachi drive, so i changed the pot from 3.5ish to 2.9ish.  The laser worked fine for over 6 months.  Then just stopped working one day.  I bought a new hd63 laser with an antistatic solder point.  I removed the point with a soldering pen and de-soldering wick.  I checked the pot before installing and it was about 3.5ish.    I installed the laser and the console still wont read a disc.  I double checked the antistatic solder point.  I changed to pot to 2.9 and still nothing.  Just spins the disc and wont read.  i dont know where to go from here.  any advice would be great.

had the same prob recently and before...for me I replaced the thing that drives the laser and it was all good but I have had to replace whole drives before (don't ask me why...I have absolutely no idea and I have investigated it all to end up still with the same problem) Huh
