I have a Samsung ms28 flashed with ixtreme 1.4, and it's working pretty well. Is it worth upgrading to 1.5? Is there any new feature for my drive? I saw something kinda vague in the release info.
Tks!

You only need to upgrade if your Xbox originally had a liteon drive and you spoofed it for a Samsung or a Benq.

If your xbox originally had the Samsung, or Hitachi, Benq, iXtreme 1.4 is fine

I don't see why you wouldn't upgrade to 1.5...takes 10 minutes.

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

can't believe these question still being asked. i've seen them 10000 times since ixtreme 1.5 release and that's like 11 days ago

excellent how people don't read or are unable to compare revisions of firmwares... or read the "what's new" / fixed / added part in ix15 readme file

but then again who reads the readme nowadays?

i mean we can ALL use a forum and ask a retard question.

Well, let's refer to the release info:

Features
--------
Support for Liteon DG-16D2S unhackable drive
Flash from Windows with new Jungleflasher GUI
Smart Inquiry cdb for enhanced spoofing - Liteon
Enhanced c/r timing - all drives
Enhanced disc jitter - all drives
Enhanced spoofing support for Liteon - Samsung and Benq
Enhanced bad angle support - all drives
Secret Liteon MS Inquiry cdb support - Samsung and Benq
Half Open tray on powerup for Windows inquiry/flash mode - all drives
Disc lock/unlock cdb - Liteon Windows mode
Drive key+serial info cdb - Liteon Windows mode
More secure firmguard - Benq</i>

As you can see, I did read the release info and it does not say anithing about samsung drives, except for spoofing and bad angle support (all drives). Since I don't know if the "bad angle" thing would make a real difference for me, I posted this question.

And allow me to modify a little bit your last sentence:

Get something productive to do, man. Don't waste your time being a pain in the a**.

I’ve got some questions regarding this as well,

1. I have a BenQ Drive and install all my games to my 120gig HDD. Is it really necessary to upgrade to 1.5 (is there some leak in 1.4 that M$ found out?)

2. And in the feature list i see that you now can flash your drive in windows, and not needing DOS to flash it?

1) if it's spoofed, definitely. also, 1.5 improves reading on the benq, i.e. less lagging in games like gta4.
2) that has been possible for a long while now with dosflash32.

about answer 1: yea my drive is spoofed with 1.4, but is the improved reading noticable when you install the games to HDD?(except the installing part:P )

about answer 2: is there any guide how to flash my spoofed drive (is it different than flashing a non spoofed drive)

Um no. But when you launch a game from HDD, the DVD drive checks the security files on your disk, and that is where security should be wanted most, i would upgrade to 1.5 if I were you.

for benq, you flash it the exact same way as before. liteon needs the key dumped first, by using a serial ttl converter. the flashing itself isn't much different.
