3 days old and already freezing and s**t

Hi, new here, got my first xbox 360 and after 3 days it's freezing on me already, what to do.
I've googled and read (a lot) about this x-clamp mod, but that (I understand) only applies to RROD problems. 'M I right?
I'm hesitating just a little when I think about opening the s**t up. 

If this is landfill-material too, then Oops....

if it's only 3 days old, return it. don't f*** with the xclamps unless you absolutely need to.

So how long does it take for MS to repair this problem anyway, assuming it's the overheating issue.
Or are they gonna say they're not taking it, as it hasn't gotten to the bit where the RROD actually rears it's ugly mug.
I'm just worried that if MS makes the cooling units smaller so a DVD drive can fit in, they're not gonna do squat about it.

They replace it for a new board. a defective unit will always be repaired, only after the regular warranty expires they will repair it only with a RROD.

3 days old take it back to the shop most shops give you 14 days
