Boots up oddly

I am going to do the 3rod xclamp fix, but I noticed something different about how my xbox boots up and i want to fix this before i start.

When I push the on button,  it blinks 4 red twice right after.  Then it goes to 3rod.  Is it natural for it to blink 4 red?

I've checked some videos on how xbox360 boots up and normally right after the person pushes the on button, it waits a good 9 seconds before any of the lights starts blinking.  But in my case, it just starts blinking red right off the bat.

maybe because you dont have the av cable plugged in ?
