rrod and the disk drive have nothing to do with each other. check if you plugged all cables in properly.

Thanks for your reply. The message I am getting is: "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console". All cables are tight and in good shape.

then you messed up the key insertion when flashing or put in the wrong drive.
