When making my backups, what media should I use?
I heard Verbatim's are the best, but expensive.  What makes them the top choice?
As a second choice, what about Memorex?  They're about half the price per unit of Verbatim disks and twice as fast.

Why is there so much debate about what disks everyone should use..now...and if you searched you would find about 2 topics that have been active in the past day

Verbatim's are the best...it makes them the top choice because they are made well and they work

if you want to use any other cheap $#!tty brand, and it works, go ahead...but your reducing the life of your laser because it tries harder to read $#!tty media.  The burning speed of the disk does not make the disk faster...the speed written on packets e.g  "   16x    "  is the maximum speed it can be burnt at, the read speed is determined by the drive
