Hey,
i have a Demokit. An now i bought a 320GB-HDD. So i have a lot of room for stuff,
Games work fine from HDD but whatīs the matter with movies like wma-hd, divx?
Just copy, i donīt think so. I looked at my 20GB retail HDD. So there are numberfolder Smiley MS-style, by the way

Some trailers are also in numberfolders, so how can I bulit this to work with my devkit?
No chance?

3. Can i run retail data on it?
4. How will i know it is a demo kit want to know about the difference between a demo kit and debug kit?

the divx addon can ONLY be grabbed from live and is locked per console. wmv movies from live are also in a signed package that is usually locked per console.

no, same reason why you can't just resign xbox live arcade downloads.

Well I can give a few questions

Usually a demo kit will cost around 400 to 500usd
Yes its made to run unsigned code
If you patch a game to debug it will play just fine
One would be that it has the xdk launcher, also a demo kit and debug kit are the exact same thing

Also you can install the divx codec on a 360 dev/debug kit but it have to install it manually.

Thatīs not right. Just connect to the partnernet and the download start when you want to watch
divx. Just like xboxlive.

savegames and usercreated content are in con files ( we can sighn )
microsoft updates Pirs containers ( abought 50,000 times harder than cons and we cant "publicly" sighn them )
everythign u download on xbl are in live containers ( abought 100,000,000,000,000,000 times harder and literaly unsighnable)

I read that I had to do a 'manual install' to me this meant trying to play a movie and it will download. That has worked up to a point. It doesn't say 'media update' like it did on my old retail box instead it says 'ipod update'. Additionally, I cannot figure out how to engage the update, the only option I am given is to 'Add Microsoft Points'. Here's a screenshot of what happens after I try and play the movie and it says I need a required update. This is for a demo kit, kernel 7776.

the ipod update is a different thing altogether and has nothing at all to do with the media update.

Well I can't figure out how to get the update, these are divx movies and that's what pops up. I can't find the 'optional media update' in the marketplace... what do I do?

way to go posting a pic with your gamertag on PN on a public forum! (for some reason, I really doubt you're an official developer)
