hitachi gdr-3120L  47DJ ,,i had a bad flash , so i removed the sst firmware chip manually and programmed it - all seemed fine (tho` was my 1st time with the willem - chip ID`ed ok and programmed fine).

but still exactly the same - completely dead wit e64 error as before , no eject function nothing.

so maybe i messed up the 2 wire trick- is there any way to recover a 2 wire trick fatality?

help needed. Undecided

well mini-'using the very likely possibility you killed the SST chip or you work isn't 100% perfect (i.e bridges or killed components whatever) yes you can recover from the 2 wire trick....replace the MT chip (that's the huge square chip with stacks of legs) - not really worth it unless you have lots of time and a stack of boards...a new DVD drive is cheap now days
