It is now possible (extracr inquiry & identfy).
A problem only with key...
Whether it is possible that a problem in a voltage divider.
Then I should to try replace transistors and diodes from another dg16d2s.
Whether it will help?

ps: sorry for my english.

I have this drive ad want to see if anyone can help

R707 and r708 have no solder pads left. R710 and R709 resistors are missing. Power connector was put wrong way round. There was a quick flash towards motor side of drive. It will now not eject but power is still going to the drive. If i try to recieve the key is gives me a key of : cc cc cc cc cc cc cc cc
I have swapped the mainboard for another liteon drive that i know ejects. It still wont eject so motor has not blown.
Any ideas on where to solder points from now and anyone in england or anywhere reckon they can get the key from it?
I think i can get around not been able to eject the drive by manually opening and removing 2 yellow wires from the mainboard. Is this right?
Please help as dont feel like having a doorstop!!

to read the KEY.BIN use firmwaretoolbox latest version it would have displayed on screen what the key was when extracting it also on my 1st 1 i wrote it down and double checked it to make sure all was correct..  I did my 1st 1 yesterday after finally getting the 4 drives i orderd.. went perfect made the device as pictured at the start of this thread used a max3232 chip and i think 5 green caps and mounted it all in little jiffy box with 2 plugs 1 for my pc and another plug i just have 4 wires on diff colours and labeled. solder on get info works perfect then unsolder.. used Firmwaretoolbox to inject the key (little box next to key window) to 1 of my hacked TS ix14.bin files and spoofed with same app custom with inquiry.bin WORKS GREAT thanks for all the info..

PS..For anyone that having probs you need to eject the drive then when u press eject and the tray is closing power down drive when half closed just yank power cord and plug back in while xbox running is what i did (to get a good key) Just a tip but for all the noobs if you try to keep soldering to the same point over and over you will lift the trace best off scraping back the circle before the solder point and attaching some hookup wire from there to the point the trace leads to for the TX and RX in the drive. I did 1 jioning the points and 1 with some hookup wire and hookup wire was easier. You will see what i mean there are 4 holes in the board refer to the pic at the start of this topic.
Drive will stay half shut and all will work if you have done your soldering and made your device right.. used the dos version dvdkey..

Just curious what is the identify.bin for i dont think i used it.

hi.

I tried to read my dvd key today and few days in back and.. i have not idea what is wrong. I know my com port/adapter is ok because I tried echo test and it works. When it is connected to lite on it send me 00 when I turn it on and off so my soldering is ok. I have VT6421 PCI card and I've flashed many drives without any problems. But if I try read the liteon it still give me CC in key (inqury etc is ok).. Of course tray is in half open position when I try to read it. I know this is popular problem but everyone said check soldering etc.. I'm good in hardware and I know my soldering is ok.. I tried to reverse TX with RX and no succes.I aslo have Maximus Reader and dvdkey under dos and still no key. So where could be my problem?  Huh
If anyone is able to help, please hit me back.

I have checked the port with iprep and it shows 8800 all the other liteons  I have done where using this port so I don't know why its not working.

Can please someone help me?

I already built 3 rs232-TTL (with HIN232, max232 and MAX3232) all following the specs

I tried all of them with hyperterminal and nothing... if i brigde TX and RX from a simple db9 conector it works and what i type appears on the screen but if i try the device i got nothing on the screen...

One of this devices i already used to interact with my old DELL 21" monitor and it worked aswell as a webstar DPC2100 cable modem.

My question is why the hell the hyperterminal loop test doesnt?

I tried with 3 computers and nothing...

BTW: I already tried connecting pins 1, 4, and 6 together and no luck.

Got it to work... i was dumb enough to not realize that you need 3.3v and GRN connected to the max to get echoed on hyperterminal (connected on the lite-on and got it echoing)

Just extracted the key and spoofed into a MS25 without any problem Cheesy

Dawm it! and i just spended 20 bucks for a device  that i already have 3...lol at me...

will try to sell it at least

the best way to grab the key is using max3232 converter....you said that you are good in hardware, that means you can build such as this converter and its so easy to build....
leave your maximus reader and use jungleflasher,max3232 con. and via6421 pci card to complete your task

ok,i think that his problem is the cable from the adapter to the drive (the resistance exceeds 0.5 ohm for each line tx,rx,gnd, vcc) and i already encountered this problem before and the result was same

This is how it worked with me, need to change TxD with RxD, also I found alternative solder points. If kill the #1 pads with thick wire, use slim wire to alternative #2 pads.

make sure all components are connected properly and especially that all the capacitors are the right way around. I used the same ttl converter (also from pollin) and was able to dump the key fine, so that one definitely works.
