Thanks for hosting red.

Is your adapter definatley just a MAX232 one because I have one of those but I am worried about sending high ttl levels to the drive. Do you know the voltage of the tx line from adapter to drives rx. Does it have a voltage divider of some sort?

Also does anyone know what to do with inquiry.bin and identity.bin in order to spoof, will it require some hex editing?

...worked!

had to start with tray halfway in...but not with eject state open, had to have eject state closed!

Thank-you Geremia! .....and sorry about my cracking the $#!ts with you before....I was getting very frustrated as I had worked very hard on doing my research before posting.

so did you indeed use a standard max rs232 lead and without any problems ?
just asking as have a few max232 leads due to flashing modems and wanted to try but seen in post their 5volt unlike the max3232 3.3volt.
or are you using the 3.3volt from power lead to drive and leaving the 5volt from max232 totally off ?

cheers

my standard max232 is 3.3v anyway, but i did not take power from the max232, as you can see in the photo.

On a side note:

I am trying to spoof this into a ms25....spoof works..but it for some reason wont take the key.........Maybe I need to put the key in some other place, not the firmware Wink  ?  like the region settings for a standard drive?

I make one interface with standard ST232 (power to 3.3V from DVD MB like in max3232 diagram) and works well for me.
Now ill wait for fw dump and write Wink.

Kyo13

it's what I try to do with my software 360 Drive Switcher.

Unfortunately, I don't have currently a lite-on, and so I need an example of extraction made by the tool. With these 3 files, I will be able to help you, until I update my tool.

If you have these files, please send it to me at soulheaven4@hotmail.com.

Thanks

I've understand what you are looking for SoulHeaven, I have edited one post before (a post where I thanks you for your answers).

If I could, I'll send you this files with pleasure, but I am waiting for the RS232-TTL converter ! I just ask what we have to edit, for other peoples that allready have the converter !

If I know someone that have extract the files, be sure I'm gonna send him to you (I know where to find you ^^). Sorry can't help you for the moment ! Sad

Ive done some hex compares:  There are 2 serials plus 1 key...these are unique to each drive.

It would be nice if you can show the HEX editing and where to get the string to SPOOF the drivers.
