Hello to all again.
After a lot of reading i will write my observation and i hope to spot light to many of as that have problem in dumping the key from lite-on.
1) I measured the voltage from the Liteon's board when it was operating and my multimeter showed 5.6 volts. I also measured the voltage that CK feeds the xbox360 drive and found it also to be 5. something volts. Thats why you can freely use a MAX232 based RS232 to TTL converter (The 5.6volts will operate the MAX232 key). So feel free to use a MAX232 IC to dump the key.
I want to ask the following:
Can somebody confirm the correct connections from the MAX3232 to the LITEON's board:
A) MAX3232 (pins) | LITEON BOARD -------------------------------------- 12 (R1 OUT) TxD 11 (T1 IN) RxD
OR
B) MAX3232 (pins) | LITEON BOARD -------------------------------------- 12 (R1 OUT) RxD 11 (T1 IN) TxD I think the correct one as i studied the IC should be A but please confirm.
I have a LITE-ON and still i cannot dump the key from it i always get the following error:
c:\DVDKEY>dvdkey 9000 Port 9000 Drive Present Wait about 20 seconds
It didn't work, sorry reg1: 54 DVD key: 00000000000000000000000000000000 Seems NOT a good DVD Key!!! 00 00 KEY.BIN saved
When i first attempted to dump the key i had misplaced the wires to the RS232 (i had placed the ground to pin 1 at the RS232 adapter and not to 5 and the RxD to pin 4 and not to pin 2). The outcome was to get the above error. Furthermore, when i checked the operation of my drive, it didn't read discs. My xbox360 was loading up to the dashboard, the dvd was spinning at high speed and nothing i was getting unreadable disc and when i was pressing the eject button then the tray was coming out with the disc continue spinning.
Did i fried my drive completely after that or is it any chance to take the key even if it is not reading anymore?
After that i realized my wiring mistake and i corrected it. But despite the fact i follow the procedure correctly (No connectivity KIT, drive in closed status half tray open) i still get the above error.
I have checked my rs232-ttl converter to the hyperterminal and when i loop the TX, RX cables after the MAX3232 it echoes back, so the IC works correctly.
The problem seems to be to the TX, RX from my LITEON drive.
I want to take TX and RX from the other 2 points wich are bridged. My question is can i solder the TX and RX to the 2 bridged points?
I hope for some answers from you guys and i hope that i helped.
I have same problem.Anyone?

i have my liteon key.bin. I have a samsung ms28 drive. The drive has no firmware on it so i got another original samsung firmware and put in liteon key with firmware Tool box.I then spoofed it with toolbox using inquiry.bin. Everything seems ok. I then flash it with dosflash. I connect the ms28 drive and the xbox loads up fine. It will play dvd's fine but when i put a game in it says please put this disc in an xb0x 360? Any ideas whats going wrong?

You have solved your own problem "i got another original samsung firmware" you need an iextreme samsung firmware, toolbox won't do this for you.

i made a ixtreme firmware with the original and then inserted key and spoofed it, so thats not the solution

I have same problem.Anyone? Ok it took me a while following the guides and what I ended up doing was soldering the tx to the far side of 708 where the circle is and rx to the far side of 707 Then you dont have to bridge and it is much easier. I couldnt get my key to extract either but when I did this it was done in seconds. I hope it helps and good luck

Hi everyone, going mad trying to do this drive spoofing from lite-on - MS25. I have the lite-on files thanks to the xtractor tool but i can't get any further. If I try to use 360 Drive switcher which sounds like the easiest way i get the message file corrupt or missing when trying to put inquiry.bin in the first field. If I use the hex way or xtractor tool way I get the message sam-cfw ###### ###### is not found when trying to flash.
I'm going mad andf on the verge of giving up so any help would be most appreciated.
Luke

Hi everyone, this was my first attempt and extracting the key but i think things have gone wrong. I tried several times to get the key using Team Xecutor connectivity kit 3 lite. But a few attempts later when i was powering on the connectivity kit i had a small flam on the mainboard of the dvd drive and now it does not get recognised. Below is an image. Any help please

what's there to help? you fried the board. either you plugged in a connector the wrong way or messed up the soldering and caused a short. that's some pretty major damage and it's doubtful that the controller chip survived it.

Ok for some people that cannot extract the key with a home made RS232 adapter (either with discrete transistors or a MAX232/MAX3232):
If you tried flipping the Tx/Rx lines and it still does not work, I made an interesting discovery:
Some motherboards require pins 1, 4, and 6 (DCD, DTR, and DSR) of the serial port to be connected together for the motherboard to "see" that there is a device connected to the COM port.
I just got a MSI P7N SLI motherboard, and it was bugging the hell out of me that none of my serial adapters would work, did not echo in HyperTerminal. After connecting those 3 pins together, worked perfectly.

can anyone tell me if r709 going to the tray staus or the open/close volts?i have one where the resistors been removed while a bad solder job was done,he's also take the caps aswell,so alt points from now, i read somewhere that without the resistor the drive doesnt read or eject, which this doesnt and try to get key and all cc's,the post i saw he had left the caps so he joint it with solder and the key dumped fine,i dont think its do-able on this drive as hes removed all the caps so i was wondering if i could re-route it somehow, this lads has killed his box coz the drive now does work and hes got no key,i'm sure its just r709 thats the problem,i'm working for the next 20 ish hours,so i cant check yet ,i'd like to have my plan ready,i bet someone had to do this before

I think: R709 is Open/Close. R710 is Tray Status.

^^ yes that's correct (R709 is a 100Ohm resistor)

so i could use a pin and wire to re-route it as theres no caps, from r709 hole to whichever one's open/close? can anyone tell me which point the dvd power line points which is open/close,any pic's would be great also thanks for the replys, that was well quick

no caps no but you need the 100Ohm resistor to open or close it (my brain is dead at this time so I hope that helps, sorry if not)

i havent got a camera good enough to get a pc but my idea is to put a pin in the r709 hole ,pin-resistor-wire,then to open close re-routing the power,as theres no chance of resoldering it,theres no pads,i'm going to trace it back a tiny bit first expose the line and try conductive paint, can anyone tell me which point on the lite board is the open/close?
