hi
I have flashed all drives except the liteon. i have read the thread and understand the basics. Not sure how i go about making the adapter to dump the key. Can anyone explain this or email instructions on how to do it? Also is anyone planning on releasing a ready made cable for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Xbox had red lights. had samsung drive. Managed to flash drive to original firmware and buy replacement warrenty seal. sent it to microsoft or sent me a new one with liteon drive!!!!

My question is...if you're connecting the two wires to Tx and Rx on the chip inside of the drive, how can you close the drive up when you're finished. Do you disconnect the wires? and if so, how do you disconnect without damaging the original solder point?

No, I didn't... I've never soldered before, but my wife used to solder chips for K-Mart scanners, so she was going to try to help me out.

I read some posts above people using 10uF capacitors instead of the 0.1 uF listed. Can I use 1uF eletrolytic capacitors?

There are cap charts on other forums.... Why cant people just follow the instructions?

Ok, for the DIY'ers out there not afraid of soldering, I have successfully dumped the liteon key using a HOMEBREW RS232 LEVEL CONVERTER, made from only 10k resistors, transistors, a 0.15uF capacitor, and a diode. Follow this schematic: Here's the changes I made to make it work: 1. Replace all 4k7 resistors with 10k resistors (so it uses only 10k resistors) 2. Replace the 100nF (0.1uF) cap with a 150nF (0.15uF) cap. The capacitor must be non-polarized I used a 2n3904 and a 2n3906 transistors, and a standard zener diode more info: http://picprojects.org.uk/projects/simpleSIO/ssio.htm

I'm planning to purchase this adapter, but I'm not sure where to solder the 3.3v wire. According to the tutorial, 3.3v is connected to V+. Do I solder 3.3v to V5 shown on the image? Tx ====================> TxD Rx ====================> RxD Gnd ===================> Gnd V + ====================> 3.3v

Hello Caster420, Good to see you. Yes you're right. But I hadn't had time to solve it when you reported this issue to me. And then, I forgot lol. If I have time I will fix it following days. Thanks Try to insert with fwtoolbox a key in the samsung ixtreme firmware, before use it in 360 drive switcher for the liteon spoofing.
I think this error could occur with firmware with 00000 or FFFFF Keys.
See you
Told you about this issue a long time ago.... The issue with the iXtreme samsung firmware is that it doesnt have a key in it. Your app must be searching the key section array for the key location, but doesnt find it. You can easily fix this by finding the last key place holder and make sure that the key structure itself conforms to Samsung firmware. Then just inject the key.
Caster. ...
