MS won't ban for using the preview. Otherwise even legit Users who have 2 Consoles and plugged in their HDD or Memcard would get banned. Also, MS wouldn't have stated that those consoles can go online again on the 19th, but would've warned that they would get banned. There's nothing positive for them about banning possibly unmodded consoles afterall, they'd just lose a live customer.

Try going to team modfreakz website and getting the latest kernel that is not NXE, 6717 I think, and try updating your Xbox the exact way you just got the NXE, I want to know if this thing blows an Efuse or not...

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

it doesn't only blow an efuse, it even checks if the efuse was blown and errors if it was not.

So, my question is. I have a launchbox wish was never repaired by ms. I have done all the updates and the R6T3 is in place, so I will get no E80 after installing.
Can i downgrade with infectus?
I have heard, if the basekernel is untouched, because only MS can change it, i can always downgrade.

Yeah, same for me, i disassembled the kernel looking for the cause, and guess what, this kernel makes sure the eFuse got burned , here is the relevant kernel code: .text:80060D80 bl XeKeysLockSystemUpdate # Branch .text:80060D84 mr %r30, %r3 # Move Register ... .text:80060E60 cmpwi cr6, %r30, 0 # Compare Word Immediate .text:80060E64 bge cr6, loc_80060E74 # Branch if greater than or equal .text:80060E68 lis %r3, unk_12D50@h # Load Immediate Shifted .text:80060E6C ori %r3, %r3, unk_12D50@l # OR Immediate .text:80060E70 bl VdDisplayFatalError # Show E80.
I then patched the LVD values using the 360 Flash Tool, i then got some "Insert disc to complete update" error message and when i put the disc back in i got a E81 I will look further into this but it seems MS don't want you to remove R6T3 anyone else getting E81?

If the R6T3 isn't in place anymore, is it okay to bridge the two points with solder for the update and after updatin remove the solder again or will that damage the CPU? Thx

NO. They put a resistor there for a reason. bridge it with a 10kohm resistor, NOT with a wire, or you might very well destroy the board.

hmmm well at least I know that I have 2 spare boards I can grab R6T3 from...it's a heads up , an idea just struck me. Has anyone tested updating there console with R6T3 then after the update, removing it (logic suggests that it would still work because it has had the ability to blow the efuse) ? after update to nxe i`m not able to boot a lower kernel, even when i fake the ldv are you sure your doing it all correctly ? I am in Australia btw to whoever asked back on page 7, I would do some testing but now that I think about it...I would rather wait until the proper version comes out (also yes 6717 is the latest kernel - Dead Space has this kernel on it) gigabite

normally to prevent blowing of the efuses so you can keep swapping between nand dumps without having to update the LDV every time.

let me rephrase: why remove the resistor if you don't even have your cpu key?
