Haha, the switch I installed on my 'R6T3-less' console worked
like a charm with the official update just now.

I didn't expect the process to take about 10 minutes
so I got a shaky finger holding the tiny switch closed never
daring to let go Wink

I've also upgraded to a 120GB HD using a WD1600BEVS and have
an Infectus + TA addon installed neither of which so far prevented
NXE from installing and running as it should.

So far so good..

Is Avatars are one time download process or every game will need a update to support those avatars.

games that will support them either are released with support already or in case of some arcade games, will need an update. other games will not support them in any way, so don't expect to get to play cod4 with avatars.

I do NOT give support by email, PM, ICQ or whatever. Anyone annoying me that way will have his balls removed. With a rusty butterknife. Slowly. And I'll enjoy doing it.

So if I update to the new NXE, it wont be able to blow any fuses.
Then it will render my box useless, but since I have my cpu key, I can read out the nand image, patch it with flashtool and flash it back with different LDV right?
Or do I -HAVE- to solder a 10kOhm on my mobo?

to apply the nxe update you HAVE to have the smd resistor in place - the update checks to make sure the efuse is incremented b4 deployment. But if you have your cpukey then it is not an issue to restore nand flash to a pre nxe state and recalc the cb + cf hashes via robinsods tool

Strange thing happened to me.
Applied the new NXE to my xbox 360 which is falcon, installed COD WAW, it works great but some times i hear sound between the game like some selection was made in the dashboard.
Like when we press A to select an option in the dashboard a sound effect comes, that same sound effect was heard during the gameplay of COD. Don't know why it happened.
It was not ones but several time.
It is not a big issue but some time it annoys me.

Right, I applied the update without the smd cap, and it gave me E80.
Then read out the nand, lowered the CF0 and CF1 patches from 3 to 2, and incremented the LDV from 1 to 2
so it looks like: LDV= 2, CF0=2 and CF1=2
Now it boots, shows the logo but it gives E81 after it should boot the game.
I didnt feel like placing the 10k cap since I taped my wires from the infectus and used glue.. it'll take me at least 2hours to take out the mobo and solder the cap.
The old update works fine btw.

Never mind it, I placed the cap with a switch and I updated to NXE.
f***ing Microsoft copies the update to the hard drive so I each time I flashed back my old 6690 image it would force me to update when I tried to play a game!
Any ways the play from HD feature does not seem to be THAT much faster compared to playing from the disc.
It was a waste of time and effort to update.

What are you talking about? There is a nice speed improvement AND it's a lot quieter because the DVD drive doesn't spin up.
