@NDT of course your hitachi doesnt know what to do with he data on the disc so it can read it and that why your hearing a tac sound.

No, i don't think so cause with a dvd-rDL with the same data written on it, the reader do not make bad tac tac sounds...
the x360 just say reading disc, with t a good spin sound.

Well, I can't explain the difference but the LG drive does NOT have any problems reading DVD+R DL media, end of story. The tac tac sound is probably the drive trying to read a particular sector which does not exist ..

Of course you wrong this thread is about an Hitatchi firmware hack, not how do I make my sata card work, theres other threads just for that so you could try posting there for a better chance of getting you question answered

btw i dumped mine with ease a while back with onboard nvidia sata with the short method but be warned  do it as it states  .Wink

probably the easiest is Protubus's excellent Slax live cd...worked like a dream on my Abit IC7-MAX3 mobo with ICH5 chipset.

Well...at least in xbox1, try to run a game recorded in dvd+r (not DL), with bitsetting set to ROM, hitachi/LG drive makes "clack clack" noise when reading the dvd, after 3 or 4 clacks, the game start with no problem...
So Hitachi/LG drives could have some troubles when reading bitsettings dvds....
This problem doenst happen with other xbox1 dvd drive...
Tested in many hitachi/LG, all the same clack clack.... Huh

If the slax method would work for me i wouldn't have asked whether someone tried it with a 6421L chipset and was successful l:D

you arent just a pretty face are you Spark?

I have many levels.  Wink

And for the record by the way, Hitatchi's have no issues reading dl media, and if yours wont do it, then it basically means either that you've been using a high recording speed, the discs youve been using have been $#!t, or you've bollocksed your drive up by some other means.

but we do not make before, if thespecialist to let out firmware!

the poor commodore4eva saves the hard work

thespecialist you can let out it from an other person if you do not want to put your name,
thespecialist they give your IP and leaves your PC to me connected for 30 minuteren Cool Smiley  than task I to take firmware to us           if you have made it truly YOU EXIT THIS CURSED FIRMWARE THESPECIALIST!
not servants  you write on readme your name, if you want to feel itself sure. Why we must wait for so much? , when firmware exists for a long time
thespecialist  tries to be corrected, and you make that one would make whichever good one and corrected person in this forum to

exit it

you forgot to ask sony for helping to hack the xbox360.

also you should have asked mister bush to forget about the iranis trading their oil now in euro's.

man, become realistic and use the time waiting on a allround-noob-dvd-rom-flashing-solution to read the forums or improve your english.

take it ieasy,
