I have a question which some of the more technical guys may or may not be able to answer yet, but if C4E has the 47DH revision, but any firmware that he were to release only be comptible with that revision of the drive, or would it theoretically work with any 360 Hitatchi ?

I think it's worth knowing this to prevent a lot of disappointment later on.

The hardware is the same, just like with the samsung you can downgrade or upgrade the hitachi to either 46 or 47...

Good luck on the fw Commodore, I think you're gonna make a lot of people very happy, except Billy G obviously.  Wink

Not easily with current tools.

You'll be able to flash a hacked 0047DH FW to a drive currently running 0047DH using flashsec, but try to flash it to a drive running a different FW revision (i.e. 0046) and you'll almost certainly kill your drive.

There is a working method to upgrade/downgrade a Hitachi in software (courtesy of Anita999), but it's beyond the abilities of the majority.

So unless a proper flasher comes out with or before the firmware, most people with a different FW to C4E won't be able to implement it.

See this thread for details.

Thanks for confirming exactly what I feared Seventhson.

Northing seems to run smoothly with this drive.

But how many revisions are out there? 2? 3?

I'd say if c4e successfully hacks one revision of the Hitachi FW, it wouldn't be such a big deal for him to modify the FW with some slight changes to fit the other revisions, would it? Sounds like that would be the easier solution than up- / downgrading the drives with risking to kill them...

Btw, is there a possibility to find out what revision you have without opening the X360? (Somewhere in the dashboard or so?)

TIA,
LilaQ

Nope you will have to open the case!

BTW: thanks for the currection seventhson, I am sure you could throw togather a program that would accomplish what Anita999 did. But i am sure theres alot of eger programers out there with 46 ver. That will be trying there hardest to get a working flash program.

Hi!
I'm new to the forum. First of all a Big Thank you and Good Luck to C4E!!!
I have a Hitachi with 46 Revision. I have backuped my firmware. Would it help C4E, if he gets a firmware from this revision?

Is there any diference between 0047DJ and 0047DH ?

When I open my firmware with KDX 1.5 it says: 47DH
